1951年結婚した ドイツ人の母とイラン人貴族の父の間に生まれた「緑の瞳を持つ」ソラヤー・エスファンディヤーリー・バフティヤーリー。婚約時から絶世の美女として報道されました。継承者をつくることができず、結婚生活は7年で終わります。国王の二人の妃との離婚は男子を産めないというもひとつで、国王は彼女のことを生涯忘れられなかったのだとか。彼女はその後女優に。
Princess Soraya of Iran, the second wife of the Shah of Iran, were married in a lavish ceremony on the 12th of February 1951 in the Hall of Mirrors at the Golestan Palace.
The bride wore a silver lamé gown studded with pearls and trimmed with marabou stork feathers Christian Dior wedding dress. She matched the dress with a full-length female white-mink cape. The wedding dress consisted of a 37 yards of silver lame with 20,000 feathers and 6,000 diamond pieces sewn on.
Unfortunately for the couple, they eventually divorced when it became apparent that Soraya and the Shah would not be able to have children together. After proposing to have a second wife, permitted by the Islamic religion, Soraya rejected the idea stating that, “she could not accept the idea of sharing her husband’s love with another woman.” The Shah and Princess Soraya were divorced 1958.
