「少しでも心が温まれば」と演技する羽生 「前のシーズンに宇野昌磨選手がひとりでGPシリーズを戦っていた姿を見て、コーチがいない難しさは感じていました。また、自分自身もファイナルでコーチがトラブルで同行できず、ショートプログラム（SP）をひとりでやってうまくいかなかった経験もありました。これだけの長い期間をひとりでやるという中で、迷いや悩みもすごくありました」 羽生は「精神的にはどん底まで落ち込んだ時期もあった」と振り返る。４回転アクセルの練習の衝撃で足に痛みが出て、他のジャンプもどんどん崩れた。トリプルアクセルさえ跳べない時期もあり、「これからどんどん技術が落ちていくのだろうか」との思いがよぎり、負のスパイラルに陥ったという。 「自分がやっていることがすごく無駄に思える時期が長かった。トレーニングや練習の方向を考えるだけでなく、新しいプログラムの振り付けも考えなければいけなかったり、自分で自分をプロデュースしていかなければいけないプレッシャーもありました。応援してくれる人たちの期待に、本当に応えられるのか。そもそも自分は４回転アクセルを跳べるのかと......。 それに、入ってくる情報では他の選手が皆すごくうまくなっているようだったので、自分ひとりが取り残され、ただ暗闇に落ちていくような感覚になった時もありました。『ひとりは嫌だな』『疲れたな』『もうやめようか』とも思ったりして。 でも､エキシビションの『春よ、来い』と､ノービス時代の『ロシアより愛をこめて』を滑った時に､『やっぱりスケートが好きなんだな』と思ったんです｡スケートじゃないと自分はすべての感情を出し切ることができないな､と.｡だったらもうちょっとわがままになって､誰かのためではなく自分のためにも競技を続けてもいいのかな,という気持ちになれた｡そこでちょっと前に踏み出せました」       上記 ： 記事の一部とお写真をお借りしました｡
