前回ブログを投稿してから、かなり時間が経ってしまいました（約2年！）。その間、仕事はどんどん大変になるし、趣味も少々始めたりして、ブログを書く優先順位がちょっと下がってしまっていました。でも完全に辞めてしまうのもちょっと勿体無いような気もするので、また始めてみようと思います。
It has been a while after I posted my last story (almost 2 years!). My work became more and more demanding and I also started some new hobbies. Writing this blog became a secondary priority for me. But it would be a pity to entirely stop writing this. So let's try to re-start!
今日私たちはちょうど夏の旅行から帰ってきました。いいタイミングなので、旅行の話から書いてみましょう。
Today we have just returned from our summer vacation. I would like to restart blogging with some stories about our vacation.
今年は私たち、新しい国に降り立ちました。ノルウェーです！Dropha以前に学会かなんかで行ったことがあるのですが、レジャーで行くのは彼にとっても初めて。現地での移動のし易さを考えて車で行くことにしました。旅の目的はノルウェー西海岸のフィヨルドを見ること。ノルウェーの西海岸まで陸路で行くのも不可能ではないのですが、めちゃめちゃ遠い・・・。ということで、デンマークの北先端からフェリーでノルウェー南部の街、Stavangerまで行き、その近くに滞在することに決めました。ま、それでも海路を含めての総距離は約1250km。我が家からデンマークのフェリーの港、Hirtshalsまででも850km。。1日で行けない距離でもないですが。。。
1．私は2時間以上ぶっ通しで運転をしたくない。
2．最近のドイツの道路状況はよろしくない。インフラが崩壊しているというか、ものすごい数の道路工事が行われていて、渋滞だらけ。
3．平日の高速道路は、ものすごい数のトラックが走っている。
This year, we landed on a new country, Norway! Drop had visited Norway before, for a conference or something like that, but this is his first leisure visit as well. Thinking about ease of moving around, we decided to go by car. Our objective was to see a Norwegian fjord located on the west coast of Norway. Going to the west coast of Norway overland is possible, but too far. We decided to go by car ferry from the tip of Denmark to a southern city called Stavanger and stay close by. Still the total distance to get there is close to 1250km (including sea). The distance from our house to the ferry habor, Hirtshals, is already 850km... It is not impossible distance to drive in one day but...
1. I don't want to drive more than (about) 2 hours without a break.
2. Recently, the situation on German roads is not good. The infratructure is crumbling and road (re-)construction results in a lot of traffic jams.
3. There are many trucks on highways, especially on weekdays.
上記の理由により、出発はトラックの少ない日曜日、南デンマークで一泊して行くことにしました。我らの最初の目的地は南デンマークAgerskovという町、距離は約550km。
Because of this, we decided to start our trip on Sunday, when there are a fewer trucks on the roads, and stay one night in southern Denmark. Our first destination was a town called Agerskov, about 550km away.
家を出たのは9時ごろ。何回かの渋滞を乗り越え、Hamburgのカオスもなんとか通り抜けて、まぁ良い時間に目的地に辿り着きました。Agerskovはかなり小さな町でした。小さいというのもなんだか我らが泊まったホテルが半分を占めているような。。この小さな町のこのホテル、かなりの大きさ。宿泊客ようにホテルの部屋とコテージがありました。我らはジャグジーもついているかなり大きなコテージに泊まりました。ホテルには大きなレストランもあって、そこで美味しい夕食を堪能しました。何がびっくりしたかって、一つのメニューの量。。
We left our house around 9 am. We had several spots with heavy traffic and we went through the chaos of Hamburg, but we successfully arrived at our destination at a reasonable time. Agerskov turned out to be a small town. So small that it was like half of the town was the hotel..., which admittedly was quite big, with both rooms and cottages for customers. We got a large (for us) cottage, even with a jacuzzi! The hotel also has a restaurant and we had a nice dinner there. And we are truly surprised the amount of food. And that was before dessert....

結果、お腹パンパン。シャツが持ち上がってます。ミスピギーの名言、”Never eat more than you can lift.”を思い起こさせます。
Full belly! We were reminded of the wise words of miss Piggy: "Never eat more than you can lift."
その日は南デンマークで快適に過ごしました。次の日フェリーでノルウェーに出発しますよ。
We had a pleasant stay in the south denmark. We took the ferry to Norway on the next day.
