いえいえ、これに尽きるでしょう、「道路工事」。
地盤のゆるい国、オランダ、道路工事は年がら年中常にどこかで行われているのですが、秋になるとその数がぐぐーーーっと増える気がするのです。私だけででしょうか。

No no... this is it! "Construction work".
Because it is a country with soft soil, in Netherlands there is always some kind of construction work going on somewhere. But I think the number of the construction work increases dramatically in autumn. Or do I only I think so??
しかも、この道路工事、大規模！高速道路の出口を移動しちゃったり、トラムを別のところ走らせてみたりしてます。もちろん工事中の道路は完全封鎖、通れません。しかもこの工事期間が１日２日じゃないんですよね。下手したら２ヶ月、３ヶ月。町中「迂回」の標識だらけでございます。笑
Furthermore, the construction work happens on a very big scale. They sometimes move an exit of a highway somewhere else or let trams to run different routes. And of course the road under construction is completely closed. We cannot go through. In addtion to that, the construction period is not 1 or 2 days but can be as long as 2 months or 3 months. There are a lot of "Omleiding" (Detour) signs everywhere in the city.
さてさて、我が家の近く、以前大きな事故があった日本の高速が交わる地点。大きなラウンドアバウトとなっています。そのラウンドアバウトからセンターへの道に通じる一本の橋、この橋が今度の工事の対象となりました。かなり交通量の多い橋なので、かなり前から閉めるよーのお知らせが出ていました。なんと工事期間は約１ヶ月・・・。うちらこれからどうやって駅に行ったらええんやろう・・・？
Close to our house, there is a crossing of two major high ways. There was a big car accident some time ago there. It forms a big round-about. There is one bridge that leads from the round-about to the city center. That bridge is the target this time. As it is a relatively busy road all day long, they put up a sign to notify people of the closure of the bridge a long time before. Surprisingly the bridge will be closed about one month....How can we drive to the station from now??
とうとうその日が来ました。自転車道ももちろん閉まっちゃうので、これからどのように学校に行けばよいのか、初日にちょっと偵察。昼間の一番交通量の少ない時間帯に行ったのですが、混んでました。当然ですな。どのみちここから駅に行くにはえらい遠回りをしないといけなさそうです。運河の多いこの辺、迂回も簡単ではありません。
Finally the starting date has come. Since they of course closed the bicycle road as well, I needed to check how to go to school. We had a look on the first day. We went there at the almost quietest time on a midday... but the road was very crowded. Of course. It seems we need to go a long detour to go to the station. There are many canals around here and not so many bridges. Detour is not so easy...
バスはどうするんだろう？うちの近くの停留所からこの橋を渡ってセンター方面に行くバスは３本。バス会社のホームページを見てみたら何も情報がありません。あれ？おかしいなぁ・・・。工事始まったばかりだから、情報がまだ載ってない？？んなわけないよね。（ちなみに現時点でのバスの運行経路変更は３２件だって。すごくない？？）
で、好奇心満々anko、ちょうど町に行く用事があったので、乗ってみました。わくわく。
How about the buses?? There are three bus lines to go to the center direction through the bridge from our area. When I checked the website of the bus company, there was no information. Strange...? The construction work had just started, but there is no information yet? (unlikely) (By the way, there were 32 changes of bus routes at this time due to construction work. It is amazing!)

おお！なんとバスは橋を渡りました。このバス路線の迂回はかなり不可能に近かったんでしょうか、バスは道路の隣にある自転車道を走ってました。上の写真の閉めるよーの標識の隣の赤い道です。ちょっと狭いのでゆっくりゆっくり。ということでバスは迂回なしです。ホームページは正しかった。ちょっとがっかりしたような、ホッとしたような。笑
Wow! The bus went through the bridge. It might be impossible to think the detour for the bus route. The bus now runs on the bicycle road next to the normal road. The read color road next to the warning sign on the above picture. The road is narrow, so the bus went through very very slowly. So there is no detour for buses. The website was correct. I am a bit dissapointed and at the same time relieved.
こういうところって日本と違うなぁとつくづく感じますね。日本だったら夜中にやったり、徹夜してやって早く終わらせると思うんだけど、そんなことは全くなく。工事も普通に勤務時間中のみ行われています。夜は何にもやってないけど、道路は閉まったままなんですよね。おもしろい。「ご迷惑をおかけします」といった看板もないし。まぁ、不便だけど、工事で働く人たちには良いのかもしれない。夜中とかに働かなくて良いし。良し悪し良し悪し。
I feel this is typically different from Japan. In Japan, that kind of major construction work is done at night or through the night to finish early. But it is not here in the Netherlands. The construction is done only in the normal working hours. There is nothing going on at night but the road is completely closed. Interesting. There is also no sign that is saying "Sorry for the trouble". It is very inconvenient for many people but maybe good for the workers of the construction. They don't need to work at night... Both good and bad.
あと、この迂回のおかげさまで、私、ロッテルダムの道に大変詳しくなりました。良し悪し良し悪し。
