明けましておめでとうございます。

この年末年始、去年はクリスマス明けに強制休暇、そして年明けの２日も強制休暇ということで、久々に長期休暇を楽しんでおります。2025年を振り返ると、またまた忙しい年だったなと。。そして2026年もおそらくまた忙しくなる見込みで。。。ま、そんな人生も楽しんだ方がいいですよね。
I have mandatory holidays between christmas and new year and again a mandatory day off on the 2nd of January. So I am having a long holiday. When I look back.... 2025 was again a very busy year. And it will probably be a busy year again in 2026. But I will try to enjoy my life.
ちょっと前に趣味のテニスについて書いたかと思います。テニスを再開してから少しずつ少しずつテニスの頻度を増やしてきました。約15年の長きにわたる運動なし生活の影響はかなりのものでした。最初はわずか数分のラリーが続くと顔が完全に上気してしまってピンクになっていました。でも去年の夏頃にはこの体力のなさでもようやく１試合をこなせるようになりました。（ここ、オランダでは１試合は２セット取らないといけません、1−1で10ポイント選手スーパータイブレーク）秋からはリーグ戦で1日２試合もこなせるようになっていました。
A while ago, I wrote about my hobby, tennis. After I re-started playing tennis, I have been trying to increase the frequency bit by bit. After about 15 years of no sport, it was not that easy. In the beginning, I was completely pink after only a few minutes of rally.... but finally I can play one full match again (normally we need to play 2 sets per match, with super tiebreak, here in the Netherlands) in spite of my bad condition last summer. By the autumn, I started playing two matches per day again.
いい感じになってきたー。そりゃあ20年前の体力には全く及びませんが、体力が無いなりにプレースタイルを少し変えたりしてなんとかなるようになっていたのです。でもついに！故障。。テニス肘になってしまいました。何が直接の原因かは不明ですが、ある日腕に痛みを感じるようになり、痛みがなくなりません。。。
It was going well. I was still not as fit as I was 20 years ago. But I could more or less cope with my bad condition by changing my playstyle a bit. But eventually, I got an injury... tennis elbow... I don't know exactly what caused this, but one day I had a pain in my right arm and it does not go away....
どうしたら早く治せるだろう？腕はしばらくの間少し腫れているようでした。冷やした方がいいよな、湿布を買いに行こう！ということで、早速近くのドラッグストアへ行きました。探せど探せど、、、ない。。。テーピングのテープ、サポーター、いろんな塗り薬と色々ありますが、湿布が見当たりません。お店の人にも聞いてみましたが、冷やすためのパッチはないそうで。。あるのはアイスパックか、温湿布のみだそう。違う店にも行ってみましたが、状況は全く同じでした。
What can I do to cure it quickly? My arm was a bit swollen for a long time. I wanted to cool my arm down. Let's get a cool patch in a drug store. I immediately went to a drug store and looked for it. There is none.... Taping tape, brace, and cream... many things are sold there but there is no cool patch. I asked the shop worker but she said, there is no patch that can cool down. They have only an ice pack or a patch for warming up... I went to another shop, but the situation was the same.
そうなんです。冷湿布はオランダでは（少なくとも簡単には）買えないようなのです。身をもって知りました。。
Yes, the cool patch is not (at least commonly) sold in the Netherlands. I found out the hard way...
今は長期休暇。テニスしたいなぁ。。
Now in my long holiday, I wish I could play tennis...
