ある日、アーニャは電車に乗って窓から外の景色を眺めていた。商工業地や住宅地の合間に田園地帯を通り抜ける路線で、時折見かける水田には水を張った田んぼに植えられている稲が緑色の絨毯のように列を作っている。そのうちに目的の駅に着いたので下車した。用事を済ませたアーニャは同じ駅から乗車して帰宅した。
家に帰るとニュース番組を見ていた。液状化現象で水が抜けている田んぼの画像を見た。今年の収穫を断念した耕作者へのインタビューが流れる。別の耕作者からは転作作物の話が出てくる。水を張らなくても育つ代わりに肥料が必要だという。そのうちに別のトピックに話題が移り、天気予報に続くバラエティー番組を見ながら晩ごはん食べて寝た。
住宅地ばかり取材される液状化現象は農業にも被害を及ぼすことを知るアーニャであった。
One day, Anya was riding the train and looking out the window at the scenery. The line passed through the countryside between commercial and residential areas, and occasionally she would come across rice paddies, with rows of rice planted in flooded fields forming a green carpet. Eventually, she arrived at her destination station and got off. Having finished her errands, Anya got back on the train at the same station and headed home.
When she got home, she was watching a news program. She saw an image of a rice field where the water had drained away due to liquefaction. There was an interview with a farmer who had given up on this year's harvest. Another farmer talked about alternative crops, saying that they would grow without water but that they needed fertilizer. Eventually the conversation shifted to a different topic, and she ate dinner while watching a variety show followed by a weather forecast, and went to bed.
Anya learned that liquefaction, which is only reported on in residential areas, also damages agriculture.
Un jour, Anya prenait le train et regardait par la fenêtre. L'itinéraire traverse des zones rurales entre des zones commerciales et industrielles et des zones résidentielles, et vous verrez parfois des rizières remplies d'eau et alignées comme un tapis vert. Finalement, la conversation est passée à d’autres sujets, nous avons dîné et nous sommes couchés en regardant une émission de variétés qui suivait les prévisions météorologiques.
Anya sait que le phénomène de liquéfaction, qui ne concerne que les zones résidentielles, cause également des dommages à l'agriculture.
