ある日、アーニャは干し竿に掛けてある干し柿を取り出して食べた。なつめみたいになった干し柿は甘い。自分でもいい出来になったと思ったアーニャはまたそれを食べたくなった。
蕾をつけ始めた今は若葉採取の時期である。実も葉も活躍できる柿は元来渋柿しかない。昔は渋柿を乾燥させて食べてきたが、品種改良で生食できるようになった。現在も存在する渋柿は贈答品として栽培されている。
今干した若葉が飲用に適する時になったら干し柿作りに再度挑戦するつもりのアーニャであった。
One day, Anya picked up a dried persimmon hanging on a drying pole and ate it. The dried persimmon was sweet, like a jujube. Anya thought it had turned out well and wanted to eat it again.
Now that the buds have begun to form, it is the time to harvest the young leaves. The only persimmon that can be used for both the fruit and the leaves is the astringent persimmon. In the past, astringent persimmons were dried and eaten, but thanks to improved varieties, they can now be eaten raw. Even today, astringent persimmons are grown as gifts.
Anya intended to try her hand at making dried persimmons again once the young leaves she had just dried were suitable for drinking.
Un jour, Anya a sorti un kaki séché accroché à un poteau de séchage et l'a mangé. Les kakis séchés qui ressemblent à des dattes sont sucrés. Anya a pensé que cela s'était bien passé et a voulu le manger à nouveau.
Maintenant que les bourgeons ont commencé à apparaître, il est temps de récolter les jeunes feuilles. Les kakis astringents sont le seul type de kaki capable de produire des fruits et des feuilles. Autrefois, les kakis astringents étaient consommés séchés, mais grâce à des variétés améliorées, ils peuvent désormais être consommés crus. Les kakis astringents qui existent encore aujourd'hui sont cultivés comme cadeaux.
Anya prévoyait d'essayer à nouveau de faire des kakis séchés lorsque les jeunes feuilles qu'elle venait de sécher seraient potables.
