US stocks hit new records today driven by constructive trade talks between the US and China. Elsewhere, US listed shares of Argentine companies jumped after President Milei's party won midterm elections. In commodities, soybean futures rallied while gold prices dropped. Among individual companies, shares in Qualcomm received an 11% boost after the company launched a new artificial intelligence chip. Avidity Biosciences surged 42% after Novartis agreed to acquire the biotech firm for $12 billion. Keurig, Dr. Pepper shares jumped nearly 8% following better-than-forecast sales and a raised outlook. Shares of rare-earth producer MP Materials slid 7% on expectations that Beijing might defer export restrictions and Carter's shares rose 2% as the baby apparel company announced store closures and workforce cuts.
