え、ついにカピバラもカフェデビュー!?
しかも場所は…
まさかのアメリカ・フロリダ！🐹🌴
日本ではすっかりおなじみの
「アニマルカフェ」。
猫カフェにドッグカフェ、
最近はハリネズミとかウサギ、爬虫類まで…
なんでもアリのこのジャンルですが、
どうやらその波が今、
世界にもじわじわ広がり中。
そんな中、フロリダに登場したのがその名も
「Capybara Café
（カピバラ・カフェ）」！
あの“世界一のんびりさん”として
有名なカピバラたちと、
コーヒー片手にまったりできちゃうんです。
…いや、これはもう行くしかないでしょ。
今日は、この話題のカピバラカフェについて、
ちょっとご紹介します☕✨
あ、カピパラを英語で
capybara…
カピバラかわいいよね。
Animal cafés have become pretty common in Japan — cat cafés, dog cafés, even hedgehog and bunny cafés. These days, there are even reptile cafés, and yes, owl cafés too.
But here’s some news that made me smile and think, “Ah… their time has finally come!”
Guess what? The U.S. just got its very own capybara café!
It opened in October 2024 in St. Augustine, Florida, and the name is exactly what you’d expect: “Capybara Café”. Simple and perfect.
And get this — reservations are booked out for months!

猫に犬にハリネズミにウサギ…
最近じゃ爬虫類カフェまであるし、
なんならフクロウとかもいる。
そんな中、
「ついにこの子たちの時代が来たか…！」
と思わずニヤけてしまったニュースが。
そう、とうとうアメリカにも
カピバラカフェが登場したんです！
しかもフロリダ州のセントオーガスティンに、
2024年10月オープンしたばかり。
その名も「Capybara Café」。
うん、そのまんま。好き。
なんと今、予約は数か月待ちなんだそう。
The café was started by Stephanie Angel, who originally opened it to support a local animal rescue group called Noah’s Ark Sanctuary.
The stars of the café are two super friendly and adorable capybaras named Mocha and Café (yes, how cute is that?).
Just looking at their photos, you can already tell — these two are total sweethearts.
And it’s not just capybaras!
You can also meet armadillos, skunks, wallabies, ferrets, and more.
このカフェを運営しているのは、
ステファニー・エンジェルさん。
もともと動物保護施設
「Noah’s Ark Sanctuary」を
支援するために始めたんだって。
お店には、看板カピバラの
「モカ」と「カフェ」という2匹が在籍。
とにかく人懐っこくて愛嬌たっぷりらしく、
写真を見るだけで「わかる…この子たち絶対いい子…」ってなる。
しかもカピバラだけじゃなくて、
アルマジロやスカンク、ワラビー、
フェレットなんかもおもてなししてくれるらしい。
What’s even better is that it’s not only the visitors who get to relax and enjoy — the capybaras are also living their best life, getting spoiled and pampered all day long.
Seriously, the look on their faces when they’re being cuddled? Pure bliss.
Oh, and fun fact: even though it’s called a café, they don’t actually serve food or drinks to customers.
The real VIPs here are the animals — they’re the only ones getting snacks!
Instead, guests can shop for cute capybara-themed merch like T-shirts and mugs, and the profits go toward supporting wildlife rescue efforts.
お客さんたちはカピバラたちと
ふれあって癒されるだけじゃなく、
なんとカピバラさんの方も、
めちゃくちゃ癒されるというシステム。
もうね、モフられてとろ〜んって
なってるカピバラたちの表情が…
「え？ここ天国？」ってレベル。
ちなみに、
カフェだけど飲食の提供はナシ。
主役はあくまでカピバラたち。
飲み食いできるのも彼らだけです。
その代わり、
お客さんはグッズを買って楽しめます🛍️
もちろん、その売上も
動物保護活動の支援に使われるそう。
cuddle は「（愛情をこめて）抱きしめる」「寄り添う」「くっついてなでる」という意味の動詞です。
名詞としても「抱きしめること」「ハグ」という意味で使われます。
