日本人といえばの定義の一つに
『靴を脱ぐ』文化がありますが、、。
これって、
世界の常識となりつつ
あるのでしょうか？
私たちにとっては当たり前の
「玄関で靴を脱ぐ」という習慣。
“家に入る＝靴を脱ぐ”という感覚が
しっかり染みついていますよね。
だけど海外のドラマや映画を見ていると、
リビングにそのまま靴で
ズカズカ入ってるシーンもよく出てきます。
えっ、ソファに靴で座るの！？って、
ちょっとびっくりしたことが
ある人も多いはず。
実はこの「靴を脱ぐか、脱がないか」の違いには、
その国の生活スタイル・清潔感の価値観・
“家”という空間の捉え方など、
思った以上に深〜い文化的背景が
隠されているんです。

理由としては「天候（雪・泥・雨）」
による清潔意識…。
スウェーデンやフィンランドでは
長い冬の期間、雪・泥・雨で
地面がかなり汚れるんです。
外からそのまま入ると
家の床がびしょびしょ＆泥だらけに…！
だから“外の汚れは玄関で
完全にシャットアウト”という意識がとても強い。

アメリカでは、「家で靴を脱ぐかどうか」は

depend on は英語でとてもよく使われるフレーズで、
意味は主に以下のようになります：
① 頼る・依存する（＝〜に頼っている）
② ～次第である（＝状況によって変わる）
例文：

→ 辛いときは友達に頼っています。
ちょっと一言！
清潔感重視や、アジア系・
ヨーロッパ系の文化がミックスされて
影響してるということですね。

ぜったいいよね。
