メルベリのFCコペンハーゲン移籍

ビジャレアルのセンターバック、オロフ・メルベリがFCコペンハーゲンに移籍した。

ビジャレアルでのメルベリ
メルベリはスウェーデン代表で100試合以上に出場した選手であり、ユヴェントスやオリンピアコスでUEFAチャンピオンズリーグに出場した選手である。そんな選手が2012年夏、セグンダ・ディビシオン（2部）に落ちたビジャレアルと契約した。驚きだった。

2012-13シーズン中盤戦の一定期間はチェチュ・ドラードがマテオ・ムサッキオとセンターバックのコンビを組んでいたが、それ以外の期間はメルベリがムサッキオとコンビを組み、35歳ながら29試合2000分以上に出場した。

ビジャレアルとは1年契約であり、契約満了後は現役引退もしくは母国のクラブで1-2年余生を過ごすのだろうと思っていたが、CLのグループリーグに出場するクラブに移籍するとは。それも2年契約で。CLでは古巣ユヴェントス戦でゴール前の混戦から得点しているが、古巣に敬意を表してゴールセレブレーションの類はしなかったという。




「スカンジナビア最大のクラブ」
スカンジナビア・サッカーニュースの記事の中では、メルベリがFCコペンハーゲンについて「スカンジナビア最大のクラブ」だと言ったことが紹介されている。UEFA.comの記事中ではFCコペンハーゲンを「北欧の一流クラブ」であるとしている。下の表を見ると実際に、1990年代の北欧の盟主はスウェーデンだったが、その後北欧の盟主がデンマークに代わったことがわかる。

北欧選抜化が進むFCコペンハーゲン
2006-07シーズンにマンチェスター・ユナイテッドに勝利した際のスタメンはデンマーク人6人、スウェーデン人3人、ノルウェー人1人、カナダ人1人。2010-11シーズンにバルセロナと引き分けた際のスタメンはデンマーク人4人、スウェーデン人3人、その他4人。2013-14シーズンにガラタサライに勝利した際のスタメンはデンマーク人4人、スウェーデン人3人、アイスランド人2人、ノルウェー人1人、ブラジル人1人。いずれの試合も北欧選抜といった感じで、十字の国旗の並びが美しい。

メルベリのように、4大リーグや各国代表での経験豊富な30代のベテランが多い。FCコペンハーゲンの試合は見たことないが、ネームバリューで他を圧倒している。北欧の選手の最終目的地はオランダ、特にアヤックスだと思っていたが、今ではデンマークのFCコペンハーゲンなのかもしれない。

フベニールがグループ優勝決定!

ビジャレアルのフベニールA（Juvenil A、ユース）が、ディビシオン・デ・オノール（Division de Honor、ユース年代のリーグ戦）で優勝を決めた。ディビシオン・デ・オノールはスペイン全土を7個のグループに分け、各グループ16クラブが総当たりでリーグ戦を行なう大会であり、各グループの優勝クラブがコパ・デ・カンペオネス（Copa de Campeones）の出場権を得る。各グループの13位-16位がリーガ・ナシオナル（Liga Nacional）に降格となる。

4位のクラブ（CD Roda）は聞きなれない名前だが、カステリョン市に本拠地を置くクラブであり、公式サイトに「Filial de Villarreal CF」とあるので、ビジャレアル傘下のクラブらしい。

バレンシア州が属する7番目のグループは2006-07シーズンに創設され、バレンシアとビジャレアルが分け合ってきた。

2011年3月に「就航路線なし」のまま開港。2012年4月1日に商業就航が開始されたが、2012年7月には再び「就航路線なし」となった謎の空港。スペイン経済危機によってあぶり出された浪費の象徴である。37万5000ドルをかけて制作された奇妙なモニュメント（24m）が建っている。

2005-06シーズンから2010-11シーズンまで、ビジャレアルの胸スポンサーは「Aeroport Castello」であり、おそらく新カステリョン空港の宣伝のためにスポンサー契約を結んでいたと思うが、「就航路線なし」という空港の状況は実に悲しい。

リザーブチーム界の頂点に君臨しているのがバルセロナとレアル・マドリード。セグンダ・ディビシオン残留は確実。現在セグンダBに所属していて、昇格プレーオフに出場できそうなのがビルバオ・アスレティック。1位と勝ち点2差なので優勝も狙える。「グループ2位-4位クラブによる昇格プレーオフ」経由での昇格は宝くじのようなものなので、「グループ優勝クラブによる昇格プレーオフ」経由での昇格を狙いたい。

レアル・マドリードCはセグンダBで5位。カスティージャがセグンダにいるため、たとえ4位以内に入ったとしても昇格プレーオフ出場権はないが、下からの突き上げがすごい。バルセロナCが現存していても似たような状況になっていたんだろうな。

ラシンはトップチームがセグンダ20位、リザーブチームがセグンダ20位で、ダブル降格の危機。セグンダBグループ2はバスク自治州の割合がますます増えそう。

今シーズンのアンダルシアでもっとも強いリザーブチームはアルメリア。

ビジャレアルBが所属するセグンダ・ディビシオンB　グループ3の順位表を見てみる。

ロスピタレートが首位。ロスピタレートはカタルーニャ州バルセロナ県に位置し、バルセロナに次いでカタルーニャ州第2の人口（25万人）を持つ。ビクトル・バルデスの出身地。プリツカー賞を受賞した伊東豊雄設計?の赤い塔が印象的。2位はウラカン・バレンシア。聞きなれないクラブ名なのでWikipediaを見てみると、なかなか面白いクラブのようで、文末で軽く紹介してみた。

3位はオリンピック・シャティバ。こちらも聞きなれないクラブだが、1932年創設の歴史あるクラブらしい。元ビジャレアル監督のベニート・フローロが1980年代後半に1シーズンだけ監督を務めていたようで。なお、フローロ監督の最新経歴はモロッコのクラブの監督。3大陸（スペイン・日本・モロッコ）を制覇したスペイン人監督はどれだけいるのだろう。4位のアルコジャーノまでが昇格プレーオフ出場権内。勝ち点を見る限りは、5位のレバンテBまでチャンスがありそうである。残りは4試合。

ビジャレアルBは昇格とも降格とも無縁の9位。トップチームに多数の選手が引き抜かれただけあって、当分はセグンダ復帰は無理なのだろうか。フアント・オルトゥーニョという21歳の選手が得点ランク4位の15得点を挙げている。

ウラカン・バレンシアCF

バレンシア州バレンシア県マニサスに本拠地を置く。ホームスタジアムのマニサス市営総合運動場（ポリデポルティーボ・ムニシパル・デ・マニサス）は人工芝かつ85×55mという個性的な形の競技場。サッカー競技規則に則っていない（長辺は最小で90m）気がするけどいいのだろうか。収容人数1,000人であり、セグンダB・グループ3の21クラブ中最少。ビジャレアルBがホームスタジアムとするシウダ・デポルティーバの1/5しか収容できず、写真を見た限りでは本当にただの練習場。

2011年6月に創設され、トッレジャーノCFからテルセーラ・ディビシオン参戦権を購入した。リーガ・エスパニョーラでは参戦権の売買ができるのが面白いけど、他国でも似たような制度はあるのだろうか。初年度はテルセーラ（4部）に参戦するのかと思いきや、続いてセグンダ・ディビシオンB（3部）の参戦権（空きが出ていた）を購入。スペインほどのサッカー大国で1試合も戦わずに国内3部リーグに参戦できるとは。

創設初年度の2011-12シーズンはグループ3位。いきなりセグンダ昇格プレーオフに出場したが、1回戦ではグループ4で3位になったルセーナに（PK戦の末に）敗れている。セカンドレグが7,500人の大観衆が詰めかけたアウェーだったらしく、雰囲気にのみ込まれても仕方がないか。

バリャドリードやヘレスでプリメーラを経験しているホセ・ルイス・カプデビラ（32歳）、セビージャやレバンテのトップチームで数試合に出場しているエンリケ・カレーニョやパコ、スペイン出身ながら赤道ギニア代表歴があるラウール・ファビアーニ、本物のパラグアイ出身のアンヘル・アマリージャなどが在籍。

The league no longer has much meaning for Real Madrid, and this seems to be borne out by Mourinho’s decision to name Cristiano Ronaldo as a substitute in tonight’s game against Deportivo la Coruña.

The last time he sat on the bench in the league was on 18th September 2011, in a match between Levante and Real Madrid, which ‘Los Blancos’ lost 1-0.

But Cristiano Ronaldo did eventually come on at La Coruña - 12 minutes into the second half, along with Özil and Khedira, replacing Modric, Essien and Marcelo.

Rayo vs. Real, suspended through sabotage

The match between Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid will not take place on account of problems with the electricity at the Vallecas Stadium. According to the President of Rayo, Raúl Martín Presa, it is all down to deliberate sabotage by somebody who has severed the cables.

With no fans in the stadium, as they cannot get in as the turnstiles don't work, and with no lighting in the ground, Rayo has consulted the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to try and get the game organised for this coming Monday.

Vicente Temprado, chairman of the Madrid Football Federation, who was at the Vallecas Stadium, stated that "it is the referee who has the last word".

José Mourinho had published Real Madrid's starting line-up in which the biggest change from the Champions' League game against Manchester City was the return of Sergio Ramos. And there was also the inclusion of Modric instead of Özil and of Benzema for Higuaín in the forward line.

Mourinho's team was Casillas; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo; Essien, Xabi Alonso; Di María, Modric, Cristiano and Benzema.

The game will take place this Monday at 7.45 p.m.

The game scheduled for this Sunday between Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid, and which was postponed in a quite decisive way through sabotage to the electric cables at the Vallecas Stadium, will take place on Monday, at 7.45 p.m., assuming that the electrical faults which caused the postponement of the game on Sunday have been rectified.

Because of the uncertainty, Real Madrid had suggested 5 p.m. - in daylight, but Rayo manager Paco Jémez was against this idea.

"Given our very tight schedule, our intention would be to get the game played at 5 o'clock if there is no guarantee forthcoming that the electrical problem will be solved by 8 p.m.", said Real Madrid Director of Football Miguel Pardeza.

"This is the time favoured by our manager because of our very tight schedule. We understand Rayo's position, but it is not our problem. We have already said what we want to do. We do not have any responsibility for this incident. It is undesirable for everyone and we have to defend our rights, and we want to play at 5 o'clock", Pardeza insisted.

This solution, with the final confirmation, means that the match between Deportivo La Coruña and Sevilla will be played at 9.30 p.m. as scheduled.

Referendum for Barça's new stadium gets green light

The assembly of FC Barcelona's members has authorised the club's board of directors to convene a referendum to decide whether to build a new stadium or remodel the current Camp Nou. The consultation could take place in a couple of years' time, once the club has reduced its current debt.

Of the 625 people present with voting rights, 490 voted in favour of a consultation, 34 voted against and 26 abstained. The spokesperson for the board, Antoni Freixa explained that the board is permitted to make decisions regarding real estate matters, but wants to make any decisions of this magnitude with the full backing of the club's members.

The club is looking at a number of different options. The possibility of building a new stadium would involve an investment of €600m, whilst remodelling the Camp Nou would cost half that amount. The members offered some opposition to the different projects being studied, partly due to a lack of information about potential locations.

"This is a question that in its self brings more questions about technical, town planning and financial matters. The result of the referendum will be binding for the board of directors and the club's members," stated Freixa.

50th anniversary of Iribar's debut

José Angel Iribar, 'El Chopo' (born Zarautz, 1943), is to be honoured by Athletic and its fans at San Mamés this Sunday upon reaching the 50th anniversary of his debut for the club. It happened on 23rd September 1962 at La Rosaleda against Malaga, the exact same opponent facing Athletic on this occasion.

"It feels like yesterday. I played the last half an hour. It wasn’t the debut I’d hoped for, because Carmelo took a knock to the head and was taken off dazed. In addition, we lost 2-0", Iribar recalled. He trusts that Athletic will avenge that defeat this Sunday, this time at San Mamés.

Iribar is a legend of world football and one of the best goalkeepers in the history of Spanish football. He was the starting goalkeeper in the Spanish side that was crowned European Champion for the first time in 1964, in an epic final against the Yashin’s Soviet Union team, played at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-1).

The former keeper holds the record for the most games played for Athletic: 614: “I’d like someone to beat that record because it would be a good sign. Loyalty is important to our club", he said.

"I played for 18 seasons and was lucky to suffer very few injuries. Thank goodness, because there were very good keepers waiting in the wings. I continued playing until the end of my career, when I had to make way for a new generation", he remembered.
