i have been at work for a week so far. on sunday i had a fever, and so just imagine monday, my first day at working coping with both work and a fever. my work is extremely fast paced, there is no time to rest, sit down or chit chat. you just work work work till lunch, come back on the dot, work work work until it's time to go home but you have not wrapped anything up yet and so i usually go home half an hour later everyday and no, there is NO overtime pay for me.
on the first day of work i had taken some paracetemol and i was still giddy and my mind wasn't functioning well, i was slow and tired too. everything came so fast i was struggling to keep up and i was really regreting my decision to join this job, i had signed a 3 months contract and i had to pay a penalty if i quit before the contract is up. tuesday was slightly better, i was equally busy, but my health was better and i was keeping up with the flow better, i was feeling less stressed. by now i have already gotten into working mode and am coping with work.
however there is something i really fear at work. that is, targets. we have targets to meet everyday, every week. to be able to meet this target, you have to develop a thick skin, shout around the office, call up other branches, there is no time to be shy. you have to be persistent, very motivated, you can't just shirk back and relax and expect things to come to you. you have to actively find them again and again. there are many times i wish i can just stop doing what im doing cuz i am sick of being persistent, but at my workplace there is no choice. you just have to go on and on, there is no such thing as 'don't want', 'rest'. and i find the target very hard to meet, honestly. i am an extremely introverted person, but i have been trying my best to actively search for things to meet my target. and even if you have jobs, or candidates, it doesn't mean you can successfully place a candidate with a job, in fact most of the time your placement will fail. so you have to just go on trying and trying and matching and matching and it is easy to be demoralised but there's no time or place to be demoralised in my job. i just have to move on and keep doing my best until i succeed. it's a constant neverending effort.
i am no longer as tired out by work so far, but i still am frightened of targets.
it's a good thing that the people at my workplace are very nice people. some do get impatient at me, but i guess it's cuz i can be irritating and slow sometimes, i hope i can quickly get the hang of things and not irritate them so much. but as long you learn fast and don't disturb them too much they are nice and willing to help you.
i still have another 12 weeks more to go. i hope that i am able to do better and better and not let anything get to me and make me feel down. i hope i will have a constant drive and the perseverence to see me through every day till the last day of this job. and i hope i can still keep my sanity by the end of 3 months. i want to be able to meet targets and succeed at this job!
anyway i bought 2 new pairs of shoes! here is one of them :)

ah.
i feel a little worried, and a little excited for my new temporary job.
i will be a recruiter! i will match people up with jobs~
sounds kind of exciting?
it's something i have never done before! for the past 5 years i have been studying accountancy and after this job i'd likely go into auditing, but for a temporary job, i think doing something really different will be good!
i hope it will help me open up and be friendlier, more interesting and become a better person overall.
i have a serious lack of interpersonal skills!
but for years i have been trying to change myself, change for the better. the person i was in my teens was angry, confused and pessimistic.
these traits are still in me, but i have been trying to reduce them, improve my character and gain a more positive outlook on life. i am still far from perfect, but every little step i take counts and i believe people around me do notice a change.
i thought i'd find a temporary job related to accountancy, but no, the moment i read about this job, i knew i wanted to try it out. i feel blessed to be given an oportunity to work in this field, even if it's for a short period of time.
i bought quite a few working clothes today! i'd transform into an OL soon though T__T it's a drastic change!!
but i love the jackets i bought today
as you can see i have a crazy obsession for mandarin collars, i love mandarin collars so much!
and this is my lucky charm~
i bought this crucifix in austria 3 and a half years ago and have always kept it with me wherever i go~ although i know i have disappointed God in many ways, i have been only blessed and blessed, living a good life. i stopped going to church at 12, but God has never left my side.
sometimes i think i don't deserve it, there are so many people suffering but not me, people who are way better than me in every aspect, yet i am so blessed and lucky.
i need to be a better person.
