90年代のZARDのヒット曲、「揺れる想い」を英訳してみました。
27年前に出た曲ですが、最近もCMに使われたようで、時代を超えた名曲ですね。
若くして亡くなってしまった坂井泉水さんの透明な歌声と歌詞が素敵です。
意訳と直訳が混ざっていますが、少しでも日本語学習者と英語学習者のお役に立てれば嬉しいです。

Marinaというsinger song writer ご存知でしょうか。
実は私は今日まで知らなかったのですが、ひょんな事から彼女の”To Be Human”という曲を聴き、興味が湧いたので和訳してみました。
彼女自身のルーツやいくつかの文化圏に住んだり旅したりした経験から生まれたという曲ですが、とにかく声が透き通った美しい声なので、是非和訳と共にお楽しみください。

「未来予想図II」は、もう30年も前にリリースされたDreams Come Trueの代表曲の一つです。
今回、英訳してみて、しみじみと、穏やかで柔らかいラブソングだなあ、と思いました。
ヘルメットをコンコンしたり、ブレーキランプを５回点滅して「アイシテル」のサイン、とか言うのは昭和の世界観ですね。
「卒業してから３度目の春」は、高校を卒業してからだと思うんですけど、それでもう結婚していてサンルーフ付きの車に乗っている、というのは「早すぎ」と言う気もします。思い出を懐かしむのであれば、せめて10年か20年くらいたっていてほしい気もしますが、歌詞的に「20度目の春〜」と歌ってもちょっと。。。
でも、羨ましい人生を描いた素敵な曲です。
