ネットワークがないユニットの素の音がいかに鮮度感が高くピュアな音がするか、
YG acousticですら複雑なネットワークで音が重く曇っている事に気が付く
avantgardeのネットワークはミッドレンジがネットワークレス、
トゥイーターは知っての通りどうしても飛ばしやすいので
ここにはローカットのコンデンサーが1個だけ
さらにこのコンデンサーに100Vのバイアスをかけることにより
ゼロクロス歪が発生しない回路を作った
ミッドレンジのトライバーは上が3kHzで下が290Hzの帯域に合わせて、
上下で-6dBの減衰が得られる専用のユニットをまず開発した事が秀逸である。
ユニットの設計からネットワークレスを前提として
50～100cmのスフェリカルホーンの特性を組み合わせて
急峻な減衰特性が得られる設計をした。電気回路を使わない。
ユニットとホーンの特性だけで中音域の音が取り出せる設計をした。
マルチアンプではない、シングルアンプで群遅延特性の問題をクリアーにして、
かつマルチアンプのような濁りのないきわめて高い透明感や鮮度感を実現した。
107～109dBという世界最高水準の高能率はホーンユニットだけでは得られない
ホーンのミッドレンジとトゥイーターに必要な出力値は1-5w程度だが、
ウーファーは85dB程度で200wくらいのアンプを持ってこないと釣り合わない。
そこで世界的にも現在流行しているセミ・アクティブ式にしてウーファーに
500wまたは1000wのD級パワーアンプを抱かせる事でスピーカー全体として
107～109dBという超高能率が得られるようになった。
avantgardeへの接続はスピーカーに電源ケーブルを繋いで、
アンプからシングルワイヤリングで繋げるだけ。
直熱三極管シングルアンプが世界最高のアンプだが、出力が足りない、
ソリッドステートのアンプと比べると低域が弱い、低域がぼやけるという弱点があった。
セミ・アクティブ式でこの問題をクリアーして直熱三極管シングルアンプで
一切のストレスなく鳴らしきれるようになった
「絶対にホーンスピーカーじゃないと嫌だ」これは
日本のベテランオーディオファイルの心の奥底に秘められた本音であり、
信念であり、どうしても譲る事のできない、金科玉条である。

使った事がないのに、なにが日本のオーディオファイルか！？
「そうでしょう！男ならホーンでしょう！」
「〇〇さん、ぶっ飛ぶ！！」日本のベテランオーディオファイルの
総意であり心の叫びである。JBLが多額の宣伝広告費を掛けながら
技術的には時代遅れになってしまっている中、avantgardeは
クラシカルなホーンスピーカーでありながら現代の最先端のハイエンドスピーカーと
渡り合っていけるサウンドクオリティ―を実現した。
これはavantgardeを導入した人と審美眼に優れた一部の人だけが知っている。
avantgardeを買った人は、ずっとavantgarde。
世代を重ねた事でホーンとウーファーの繋がりも飛躍的に改善され、
もはや違和感を全く感じないレベルに到達している。
avantgardeはコンセプトや設計の狙いがマニアライクで
他にも考えそうな人がいたと思うが、そのマニアックな構想を実現したのが偉大である
avantgardeを模倣したメーカーがドイツや中国に複数存在する事が

avantgardeの本邦初登場は2003年夏の北海道でのイベントで、
巨大なイベントスペースに収まり切れないほどの大観衆を集めてのものだったと
記憶しているが、それ以前にも旧製品の写真が添えられた海外イベントの
リポート記事がある。管球王国のバックナンバーに掲載されたもので
欧米の高名な評論家がavantgardeと直熱三極管の組み合わせを聴いて参ってしまい
その音の虜になってしまった事を皮切りに、avantgardeと特性重視に作ってある
現代的な音質の直熱三極管アンプの組み合わせが海外では広く知られた
オーディオの最終到達点となる理想的な組み合わせになっている。
「小出力の直熱三極管シングルアンプの救世主となるだろう」との
コメントが同記事には添えられている。現在でもカナダのA＆Mの総代理店の女性社長は
avantgardeとの組み合わせでAIR-TIGHTのアンプのデモを積極的に行い、
異例のセールス実績を上げている。

Uses a spherical horn (a spherical horn with an uncompromisingly ideal horn shape). avantgarde uses only a cable to connect the power amplifier to the voice coil. The characteristics of the horn and the driver design mechanically control the speaker's characteristics. As anyone who has built their own speakers or tried multi-channel systems knows, the network is the cancer of speakers. You'll notice how the raw sound of a network-less unit sounds fresher and purer. Even YG acoustic speakers have complex networks that make their sound heavy and muddy. avantgarde's network eliminates the midrange, and because tweeters, as you know, tend to skip, it only has a single low-cut capacitor. Furthermore, by biasing this capacitor to 100V, they created a circuit that eliminates zero-crossing distortion. The midrange driver is designed specifically for the 3kHz and 290Hz frequency bands, providing 6dB of attenuation above and below. An outstanding feature is the development of a dedicated unit that achieves 6dB of attenuation above and below. From the very beginning, the unit was designed with networkless operation in mind. By combining the characteristics of a 50-100cm spherical horn, we achieved a design that achieves a steep attenuation characteristic. No electrical circuitry is used. The design allows mid-range sound to be extracted solely through the characteristics of the unit and horn. By using a single amplifier rather than multiple amplifiers, we have overcome the issue of group delay characteristics, while achieving extremely high clarity and freshness without the muddiness of multi-amplifiers. The world's highest level of efficiency, 107-109dB, cannot be achieved with a horn unit alone. While the horn midrange and tweeter require an output of around 1-5W, the woofer only needs an amplifier of around 200W to match, as it only needs an output of around 85dB. By adopting the semi-active system, which is currently popular worldwide, and using a 500W or 1000W Class D power amplifier for the woofer, we were able to achieve an ultra-high efficiency of 107-109dB for the entire speaker. To connect to the avantgarde, simply connect the power cable to the speaker and connect it to the amplifier with a single cable. Direct-heated triode single-ended amplifiers are the world's best amplifiers, but they lack output, and compared to solid-state amplifiers, they suffer from weaknesses such as weak low frequencies and a blurred bass. The semi-active system overcomes these issues, allowing direct-heated triode single-ended amplifiers to sound flawless and effortlessly. "I absolutely cannot do anything but horn speakers." This is the true feeling, belief, and golden rule hidden deep in the hearts of veteran Japanese audiophiles. "Speakers are the overwhelming focus of audio." How can you be a Japanese audiophile if you've never used a horn speaker?! "Of course! A man needs a horn!" This is the consensus and heartfelt cry of veteran Japanese audiophiles. While JBL has spent billions on advertising and marketing, and its products have become technologically outdated, avantgarde has achieved sound quality that can compete with today's cutting-edge high-end speakers, even in a classic horn speaker. This is known only to those who have purchased avantgarde and a select few with keen aesthetic sense. Once you buy an avantgarde, you'll always own an avantgarde. With each generation, the connection between the horn and woofer has improved dramatically, reaching a level where you no longer feel any sense of incongruity. The avantgarde concept and design aims are enthusiast-like, and while there are probably others who could have come up with the idea, it's amazing that they were able to realize this enthusiastic concept. The fact that multiple manufacturers in Germany and China have imitated avantgarde is proof of this. avantgarde's first appearance in Japan was at a huge event in Hokkaido in the summer of 2003. I remember it being a huge event that overwhelmed the venue, but there's a report from an overseas event, complete with photos of older products. It was published in a back issue of Tube Kingdom. It began when a renowned Western critic heard avantgarde paired with a direct-heated triode and became enthralled with the sound. Since then, the combination of avantgarde and a performance-focused, modern-sounding, direct-heated triode amplifier has become widely known overseas, becoming the ultimate audio milestone. The article also includes a comment that reads, "It will be the savior of low-output, direct-heated triode single-ended amplifiers." Even today, the female president of A&M's exclusive distributor in Canada actively demonstrates AIR-TIGHT amplifiers in combination with avantgarde, achieving exceptional sales results.
