セントポール (ミネソタ州)
セントポール（Saint Paul）は、アメリカ合衆国ミネソタ州東部に位置する都市。同州の州都であり、ミネアポリスに次ぐ州第2の都市である。人口は285,068人（2010年国勢調査）[1]。市名は1841年に建てられたセントポール大聖堂に由来している。このセントポールと西に隣接するミネアポリスとをあわせてTwin Cities（双子の都市）とよく呼ばれる。「双子の都市」は、ミネアポリスが州の経済・文化の中心で地方の中枢都市であるのに対し、セントポールはミネソタ州会議事堂や州の各種機関が集まる州の政治の中心地であり、役割を分担している。この「双子の都市」および近隣のブルーミントン、セントクラウドなどを含んだミネアポリス・セントポール都市圏は約360万人の人口を抱える[1]。
