タイで行われた軍事演習｢コブラゴールド2016｣での、自衛隊、アメリカ軍、タイ軍­、マレーシア軍による在外邦人救出訓練(Non-combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO/非戦闘員退避活動) / Transportation of Japanese Nationsls Overseaseas (TJNO/在外邦人輸送))。
2016年2月17日、タイ中部のウタパオ海軍航空基地で行われ、大地震で極度に治安­が悪化した国からの自国民の避難を想定した訓練で、自衛隊の訓練には日本人学校の生徒­が避難邦人役として参加した。
コブラゴールド2016：タイとアメリカが共同開催するアジア最大級の多国間軍事演習­で、今年は2016年2月9日から19日まで行われ、9ヶ国が参加(タイ、アメリカ、­日本、シンガポール、インドネシア、韓国、マレーシア、中国、インド)。

The United States, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia armed forces conducted a Non-combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) / Transportation of Japanese Nationsls Overseaseas (TJNO) training in Utapao, Thailand, Exercise Cobra Gold 2016.
Exercise Cobra Gold 2016 - Thailand and the United States will co-host the annual, multilateral Exercise Cobra Gold in various areas throughout the Kingdom of Thailand Feb. 9-19, 2016.
This year's participating countries are nine countries (Thailand, United States, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, China, India).
