ジョージ・T・サカト(ジョージ・タロー・“ジョー”・サカト / 坂戸 太郎)：日系アメリカ人(二世)、アメリカ陸軍退役一等兵、名誉勲章(メダル・オブ・­オナー)受章者、享年94歳(1921年2月19日 - 2015年12月2日)。
第二次世界大戦時にヨーロッパ戦線で活躍した日系人部隊｢第442連隊戦闘団｣の一員­として功績を上げ、のちにアメリカ軍の最高位勲章である｢名誉勲章｣を受章する。

Japanese American Medal of Honor recipient George Sakato was interred at Denver's Fairmount Cemetery on January 16, 2016.
George Taro "Joe" Sakato (February 19, 1921 – December 2, 2015) was an American combat soldier of World War II who received the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military award for valor.
He volunteered to be part of the all-Nisei442nd Regimental Combat Team and was assigned to 3rd platoon, Company E, 2nd Battalion.
The US Army unit was mostly made up of Americans of Japanese descent from Hawaii and the mainland.
