These days, I feel completely overwhelmed by my daily life.
I thought I would have more my free time once summer vacation ended, but I’m still running in circles.
"The Disciplined Pursuit of Less" points out, when people get too busy, they performance drops even if they are highly skilled.
In my case, I can't barely find a moment to relax from the bottom of my heart.
My time is strictly limited.
My real productive window is only from 8:00AM(after my daughters leave for school)
until 5:00PM. Is 9 hours enough to accomplish something?
Logically yes, but I struggle.
As soon as my daughters leave, I rush through the remaining housework,
Then, at the very last minute, I scramble to prepare for the day’s lessons, but I never finish everything.
I constantly tell myself"Don't aim for100%. 80 % is more than enough"
Despite that, yesterday’s lessons felt like a disaster from my perspective.
I mixed up the materials for the university entrance exams and couldn’t even solve a problems that wasn’t particularly difficult.
I pretended to stay calm, but inside, I was in full panic mode.
I guess part of this pressure comes from the presence of other tutors.
I’ve noticed that some senior tutors who teach the same students seem to be watching me.
Am I overthinking it?
Maybe.
Still, I don’t want people I don’t fully trust interfere with my work, so I make tremendous efforts to hide my weaknesses in front of them. It is sometimes exhausting.
I know I’ve lost my way a bit.
Instead of teaching haphazardly, I need to focus on my students’ ultimate goals and map out a clear path to get them there.
Clearing and organizing my mind must be my top priority.
I really longed for a weekend with zero plans, but daily life won’t let me.
This morning will start with a trip to my daughter’s dermatologist.
This afternoon, my younger daughter begged to go to a local festival with her friends, which means the moms have to keep an eye on them the whole time.
(Actually, I hesitated to say yes,and battled with her over the plan, but she messaged the friend's mom directly without telling me. The mom lined me saying 'It's all good!' and that was that. Oh my gosh...)
Tomorrow is full of kids’ activities, too.
How am I supposed to find any time to relax? Maybe now??
In the end, I beed to cut back on things that aren’t important or are wasting my time.
I’ve worked so hard to become a better tutors, but the more high-level lessons I take, the more my effectiveness seems to
In the end, I need to cut back on things that aren't important or are wasting my time. I’ve worked so hard to become a better teacher, but the more high-level lessons I take on, the more my effectiveness seems to drop significantly.
After finishing this blog, I’ll practice essentialism by opening my book.
That's all today.
Have a good day:)
