そこの引き出しにマニュアルがあるよ。
ポ：It’s the toaster you are talking about. I say Easter, the American holiday. Why don’t Japanese people get on the bandwagon and enjoy?
それはトースター。わたしが言ってるのは、アメリカの祝日。なんで、日本人はアレに乗らないのか。
デ：You raise a good point, Laura. It doesn’t make sense. Everyone here in Japan celebrates Christmas with a lot of hot zeal, but gives the cold shoulder to Easter when He resurrects.
たしかに、不合理な話だ。キリストが生まれたクリスマスは、日本じゅうでパーティするのに。主が復活した日は、みんなソッポ向いてる。

デ：“You Only Live Twice” was such a great hit.
『００７は二度死ぬ』の映画はヒットしたけど。
ポ：I assume that Easter gives us nothing to buy, unlike cakes of Christmas or costumes of Halloween.
わたしが思うに、イースターにはウリが無いから。ケーキとかコスプレみたいに。
デ：You got eggs! They color and hide them in places and enjoy finding game. We can do the same here.
タマゴがあるじゃない。アメリカ人はそれに色つけて隠して、探すゲームを楽しむだろ。日本でもすればいい。
ポ：Yes, only preschoolers would do. それで喜ぶのは幼稚園児だけ。
デ：Make it for adults. Put small things in plastic capsules and you do hide-and-seek.
やり方しだいさ。タマゴ型のカプセルに小物を入れて、探すゲームをすればいい。
ポ：That’s a good idea. I’d like chocolate or coupons in them.
そうね。チョコレートとか商品券とか。
デ：Some would never be found, no matter how many years passed.
中には、誰も見つけられないカプセルもあったりして。
ポ：I doubt that. ないわよ。
デ：You heard of time capsule, Laura?
