インド北東部の山岳地帯にあるこの地方は
一時イギリスの管轄下にありました。
人口は90万人程度の小さな国です。
国と言っても現在は
インドの州となっています。
住民はほとんどがミゾ語を話しますが、
昔のイギリスの影響で英語も
公用語になっています。
下の映像でもわかりますが本当に
きれいな英語を話します。
独立を目指したこともあり、歴史的に
戦闘が絶えない山岳地帯でした。
インドで一番高い識字率で教育も
高水準です。
人々は一般のインド人の風貌とは
全く違い隣りのミャンマーや
イギリス統治の影響を受けています。
アジア人に近い雰囲気です。
混血の影響でしょうか、女性が
飛び切りの美人さんが多い地方です。
もう一つこの地方の特徴は皆
音楽が大好きで、プロの歌手や
コーラスグループやバンドが
多い地域です。
