Yesterday Sneaker News showed you a teaser of an upcoming collaboration between Dutch artist Parra and Nike Air Max Skyline athletic shoe icon Converse. Their ‘Cherries For a Good Cause‘ collaboration is part of the (RED) campaign to raise worldwide AIDS support, in an effort to ‘Paint the Town’ with awareness of the epidemic. This special pair of the Converse Chuck Taylor High features a light brown suede upper with a peculiar graphic of a pair of cherries with arms and legs. If you saw the teaser video yesterday, you might have chuckled at the animation of the running humanoid cherry, but the serious undertone of the (RED) campaign will remind that this partnership is indeed for a good cause. These will release soon at select Converse retailers such as Limited Edt Chamber in Singapore, so stick with Sneaker News for release info and take a look at the gallery after the jump. via streething.
Ronnie Fieg recently showed off a duo of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Highs that looked amazing in grey and black leather with white soles. The spirit of those axed sample pairs is resurrected for this new pack of Converse Chuck Taylor Cup Sole hightops on tap for Fall 2010. Both grey and black pairs are done in rich leather, but forgo the embossed insignias found on Feig’s joints for a more traditional sewn on medial logo. The biggest change, though, would be the all-white cupsoles that should make these an even smoother ride than your average Chucks. The last time Parra collaborated with Converse, he created ‘Simply the Wurst’ Chuck Taylor All Star Highs. These sausage-laden Chucks are typical of the Dutch artist’s whimsical style, which looks to return to the One Star brand with a new tag team effort to support the (RED) fight against AIDS. The name of the nike free run 5 womens project this time around is ‘(Paint the Town) RED’, a theme teased by a Parra-produced video that features a dancing bunch of cherries. nike free run v3 3.0 Click the jump below to see the video in its entirety and stick with Sneaker News for updates on this Parra x Converse collabo.
