The Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run is an American icon on a level that even the vast majority of Air Jordans can’t even come close. It’s kind of like the t-shirt or a leather Air Maxet, one of those indespensable items that has already passed the test of time and been adopted into the very DNA of our culture. The latest pack of Chucks comes in highs and lows and takes its inspiration from cultures that existed on this continent long before the USA was established. Dubbed the ‘In-Ethnic Pack’, this set of turquoise, red and black kicks adds a woven pattern to the heel of each pair that clearly connects with aboriginal weaving styles, yet calls out to no one tribe in particular. It’s a fitting vagueness for a shoe that itself has enjoyed success in nearly every subculture over the past century, and you’ll find them available now straight from Nike Japan.
While the Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run has been done up in an endless variety of materials over its long Nike Free Run Sale lifespan, the canvas look is still the default when it comes to Chucks. Recently though, guys like John Varvatos and Ronnie Fieg have been turning that trend around a bit, breathing new life into this model via high quality leathers. The pair shown above isn’t a collabo release, but it takes on Nike Free Run 5.0 V4 the leather look nonetheless, doing so in a deep blood red that barely lets up save for the strip on back. With their numbers slowly climbing but not reaching the levels of some other trends, metal studs on sneakers are either soon to become a major force in ostentatious lifestyle designs, or perhaps destined to maintain a lower profile and keep some of their Nike Free Run Mens rebel mystique.
