The majority of the releases from the DC Comics x Nike project we’ve seen so far have stayed true to the comic book look, with colorful graphics that grab at your attention. Paying tribute to the Batman villain of the same name, these come in a premium leather dipped in the same gooey green that The Riddler sports in the comics. Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run: a million materials used, a billion colorways produced and still always something left up the sleeve. The latest variation comes to us courtesy of two new lowtops that utilize a rugged wax-coated canvas material that first showed up just about two weeks ago on a moc-toed, boot-inspired Nike Air Max Mens hightop. There’s less rugged mountaineer, more well prepared urbanite on this duo, or maybe it’s the high seas that these were born to sail with names like ‘Beluga’ Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 and ‘Oyster Grey’. Going with out NBA action for a bit over a month was tough for some basketball fans to swallow, but the NBA TV crew of Kevin Harlan, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, Shaquille O’neal, Steve Smith, and Steve Kerr for Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 keeping us entertained while keeping the sport of basketball at the focus. Recently, the eight-man crew got together to talk about something that has gone hand-in-hand with the sport: sneakers. As players got faster and stronger, sneakers have improved in technology and performance, but these guys played in an era where Flywire and LunarLon were preceded by leather and rubber. The roundable of NBA notables looked back at their favorite sneakers of the past like the Nike Pro Leathers, adidas Conductors, and Nike Air Flight Huaraches, but Barkley himself credits Michael Jordan for creating the sneaker generation we have today.
