A. 日本語で答えるとこうです。
日本では、あらゆる都市に多くの神社や寺院があります。前者は日本の固有の宗教である神道に、後者は中国から伝わった宗教である仏教に捧げられているものです。これら２つの宗教は日本の社会に争う事無く共存しています。西洋人の目には、寺院や神社は同じであるように見えるかもしれませんが、それらが異なっているのは間違いありません。これら２つを見分ける最も簡単な方法は神社に特有の、鳥居を探すことです。鳥居は石で作られた正方形の門であり、境内から悪を追い払う働きがあると考えられています。健康と将来の成功を祈願するために、寺院と神社を定期的に訪れる人は多いです。

A. There are many shrines and temples in Japanese cities. The former is dedicated to Shintoism, the indigenous religion of Japan, and the latter, Buddhism, a religion introduced from China. These two religions peacefully coexist in Japanese society. Temples and shrines might look the same to Westerners' eyes, but they are definitely different. The simplest way to distinguish the two is to look for a torii gate, which is unique to shrines. A torii gate is a square shaped gate usually made of stone. It is considered to ward evil off the precinct. Many people visit shrines and temples regularly to pray for health and future success.
