How to make your own iphone ringtones from mp3?
when you download a mp3 music from the internet, you cannot 'create ringtone' directly in your iTue (by right click). What you have to do is the following:
step 1. select your mp3 music which you want to make as ringtone: right click at 'convert ACC version...
step 2. the 'acc version' will directly generated just under your music, as a new music file: right click on 'Get Info'. in 'Options' define your 'start time' and 'stop time', then click 'OK'...
step 3. go to 'Finder', to your own folder, and to Music/ iTunes/ iTunes Music/ then you will fine the artist name on one of the folders. Go into this folder and find the file: you will see two files - one is mp3 file and the other one is .m4a file.
step 4. rename the .m4a file by changing '.m4a' to '.m4r' and click 'Use .m4r'. now you will see this as a ringtone fine.
step 5. put all your ringtones into one folder named 'Ringtones' under 'iTunes' folder. Then you can sync your new ringtones!
ps: this can only done under Mac OS. For Windows seems you cannot change the extension from .m4a to .m4r. In this case, if you have both MacOS and Windows, just copy the ringtones folder into a harddisk and paste into iTunes folder in Windows. If you only have Windows, google some softwares that could convert mp3 into iphone ringtones...
good luck!
