大相撲十一月場所 (九州場所) の中日 (なかび) である本日 (令和4年11月20日 [日曜日])、新序出世披露 (しんじょしゅっせひろう: 新しく番付に四股名 [しこな] が載ることになった力士のお披露目) が行われました。
Today (Sunday, November 20, Reiwa 4 [2022]) in the Ozumo November Basho (Kyusyu Basho) saw the Shinjo Shusse Hiro (新序出世披露), which is the induction ceremony of new rikishi whose ringnames will be listed in the rikishi list (番付表) in the next basho.
十一月場所の新序出世力士の四股名、出身地、所属部屋は以下の通りです。

儀式の最後に、土俵上の行司さんが以下の言葉を述べました。
At the end of the ceremony, the gyoji (行司: referee) who was in the dohyo made the following remarks.
「これに控えおります力士儀 (りきしぎ) にござります。只今までは番付外 (ばんづけがい) に取らせおきましたるところ、当場所儀 (とうばしょぎ) に成績優秀につき、本日より番付面に差し加え (さしくわえ) おきまする間 (あいだ)、以後相変わらずご贔屓 (ひいき)、お引き立てのほど、ひとえに願い上げ奉ります (ねがいあげたてまつります)。」
"Those sitting in front are the new rikishi. They were outside the rikishi ranks until now, but they are added to the ranks today because they performed well in this basho. We sincerely and fervently ask you to encourage and support them in their sumo career."
上記の新序出世力士のうち、数人に関する情報を記します。
The following are details on a few of the new rikishi above.
- 桜庭は、伊勢ヶ濱部屋付の安治川 (あじがわ) 親方 (元関脇安美錦 [あみにしき]) の甥です。今日の新序出世披露では伯父さんの現役時代の化粧まわしを締めていました。
- Sakuraba is the nephew of Ajigagawa Oyakata (安治川親方), who is an oyakata in Isegagama Stable and erstwhile sekiwake Aminishiki (元関脇安美錦). Sakuraba wore his uncle's kesho mawashi (化粧まわし: an apron-shaped decorated mawashi that a rikishi wears on special occasions such as a dohyo-entering ceremony).
- 風栄大、鶴、根岸、岡野の4人は、多くの力士を輩出している埼玉栄 (さいたまさかえ) 高校の出身です。
- Kaze-eidai, Tsuru, Negishi, and Okano are graduates of Saitama Sakae High School (埼玉栄高校), a school where many rikishi hail from.
- 根岸と岡野の2人は、共に武隈部屋の兄弟子 (あにでし) であり埼玉栄高校の先輩でもある豪ノ山 (ごうのやま) 関から借りた化粧まわしを締めていました。
- Both Negishi and Okano wore kesho mawashi that they borrowed from Gonoyama (豪ノ山), who is both their senior rikishi at Takekuma Stable and a few years their senior at Saitama Sakae High School.
若者が角界 (かくかい: 相撲の世界) に入ってくるのを見るのはいつも嬉しいです。新力士の今後の健闘を期待します。
It is always nice to see young men enter the world of sumo. I hope the new rikishi will try hard and do well.
