寺沢 (てらさわ) (高砂 [たかさご] 部屋; 西幕下13枚目) は、先日の五月場所を5勝2敗の好成績で終えました。来場所は幕下上位に上がるでしょう。
Terasawa (寺沢) (Takasago Stable [高砂部屋]; west makushita 13 [西幕下13枚目]) ended the May basho the other day with the score of 5 wins and 2 losses, a highly credible record. In the next basho, he will be promoted to a higher rank in the makushita division (幕下上位).
彼は、令和2年 (2020年) 7月に、飼っていたウサギの遺骨を入れたお守りの入った廻しを盗まれてしまったことがありました。それにも気を落とさず、同年九月場所では、7戦全勝して幕下優勝を果たしています。また、好角家 (こうかくか: 相撲を好きな人) の漫画家の能町みね子さんが「真面目な顔をして面白いことを言う」と寺沢を評していたのを覚えています。
In July of Reiwa 2 (2020), he had the misfortune of having his mawashi (廻し: the belt that every rikishi wears) stolen. The mawashi contained a talisman holding the ashes of a rabbit that he had kept as a pet. Undaunted by this misfortune, he won makushita yusho (幕下優勝: championship in the makushita division) in the September basho of Reiwa 2 (2020) by winning all seven bouts. In addition, I recall that Ms. Mineko Nohmachi (能町みね子さん), a cartoonist who is also a noted sumo aficionado, has commented that Terasawa "makes funny comments while looking serious."
寺沢には早く関取 (せきとり: 給料をもらえる十両以上の力士) になってほしいです。
I want Terasawa to be a sekitori (関取: salaried rikishi with the rank of juryo [十両] or above) soon.
追伸 ミニピアノで、映画「永遠の0」主題歌の「蛍」 (サザンオールスターズ・桑田佳祐作詞作曲) を弾いてみました。「永遠の0」は私の好きな映画の一つです。特に、岡田准一 (おかだ じゅんいち) の演ずるゼロ戦 (零式 [れいしき] 艦上戦闘機) のパイロットが素晴らしいです。
P.S. Using the miniature piano I have at home, I played "Hotaru" (蛍: firefly), the theme song of the film "Eien no zero" (永遠の0 [The Eternal Zero]) (lyrics and music by Keisuke Kuwata [桑田佳祐] of Southern All Stars [サザンオールスターズ]). "The Eternal Zero" is one of my favorite films. In particular, the Zero Fighter (ゼロ戦、零式艦上戦闘機) pilot played by Jun-ichi Okada (岡田准一) is excellent.
