二年前の令和元年 (2019年) 五月場所の千秋楽には、私はこの「アメリカ合衆国大統領杯」がドナルド・トランプ大統領 (当時) から朝乃山 (あさのやま) 関 (高砂 [たかさご] 部屋; 西前頭8枚目 [当時]) に授与されるのを国技館で直接見ました。あれから二年経ったのかと思うと懐かしいです。
On the sensyuraku of the May basho of Reiwa 1 (令和元年 [2019年] 五月場所), I was at Kokugikan (国技館) and saw with my own eyes then President Donald Trump award Asanoyama (朝乃山関; Takasago Stable [高砂部屋]; west maegashira 8 at the time [当時西前頭8枚目]) the Cup. It has been two years since then. Being there two years ago is a fond memory.
