本日 (令和3年 [2021年] 5月16日 [日曜日]) のNHK総合テレビの大相撲解説者は、3月に現役を引退された元横綱鶴竜 (かくりゅう) の鶴竜親方でした。
Today (Sunday, May 16, Reiwa 3 [2021]), the sumo commentator for NHK General Channel was Kakuryu Oyakata (鶴竜親方), who was Yokozuna Kakuryu (横綱鶴竜関) until March.
モンゴル出身の親方の話しぶりは滑らかで聞き易く、力士の技などに関する指摘も的確でした。日本語は大変上手で、何も知らない人が聞いたら生粋 (きっすい) の日本人と間違うほどでした。
The oyakata, who is originally from Mongolia, talked smoothly and was very easy to listen to. His comments on rikishi's techniques were incisive and appropriate. His Japanese is so good that he will be regarded as a native-born Japanese if someone who does not know about him listens to him.
NHKの佐藤洋之 (さとう ひろゆき) アナウンサーは、今日は鶴竜親方に多く話させて、向正面の解説者の立田川 (たつたがわ) 親方にあまり話す機会を与えませんでした。しかし今日は鶴竜親方の相撲解説者としてのNHK初出演だったので、それは仕方ないと思います。
Mr. Hiroyuki Sato (佐藤洋之アナウンサー), the NHK announcer who was running the live sumo coverage today, let Kakuryu Oyakata talk so much that Tatsutagawa Oyakata (立田川親方), the commentator who observed the dohyo from the other side (向正面の解説者) did not have too many chances to make comments. However, that is understandable because it was Kakuryu Oyakata's first appearance on NHK as a sumo commentator.
