Can racial discrimination be eliminated？
まず、日本語で書いてみた。イントロに示すとおり、ある程度の定義または範囲を区切り、具体的にしたほうが抽象的に展開するよりもよいのではないかと考えた。また、自分の専門は教育なので、教育畑におけるその問題は、と持って行ったほうが発想しやすいと考えた。

人種差別とひとことで言っても、網羅する範囲は広いので、特に、日本の学校での人種差別の克服を例に考えたい。同質の生徒からしか構成されない教室に暮らす生徒は、ほぼ日本人で構成される日本社会の縮図であるからである。学校で生じうる人種差別に、わたしは日本人の側、そして外国人の側の両方からアプローチすることができると思う。

まず、日本人生徒に異なる背景をもつ他者とのコミュニケーションの場を多く与えることである。差別は無理解から生じることが多い。異なる文化、考え方を知り、共存の方法を探る態度を身につけさせることで、寛容性を養わせたい。

もうひとつは、外国人生徒に日本の文化について知る機会を多く与えることである。人種差別はまた、外国人生徒が知らず日本で要求されるマナーと知らないために問題行動が考えられかねない行動をとることからも生じると考える。

また、学校の制度自体を多様性に応じるものに変える必要がある。宗教上、礼拝をおこなう者や、食べられない者に対しての配慮を大人が示すことが、生徒にあるべき態度を教えることになると思う。
結論
学校で人種的な問題を解決することができた経験は、生徒が社会に出てからの行動における指針となる。異なる他者への理解は難しいが、人間はもとから社会的な動物であり、差別を克服して協力して社会を作ることは可能であると考える。若い人への教育が、ひいては差別のない社会の実現につながると考える。

The experience of resolving racial issues in school can guide students' behavior when they enter the workforce. Although it is difficult to understand others who are different from us, we are social animals by nature, and we can work together to create a society. I believe that educating young people will eventually lead to the realization of a society without discrimination.
