途中、田舎から都会に来ていたシモンという男に出会い、兵士たちは彼にイエスの十字架を強制的に背負わせました。（シモンはキレネ出身で、アレクサンダーとルファスの父親でした。）

彼らはイエスを、「頭蓋骨の場所」を意味するゴルゴタと呼ばれる場所に連れて行きました。

そこで彼らは没薬（もつやく）と呼ばれる薬を混ぜたワインをイエスに飲ませようとしたが、イエスはそれを飲もうとしなかった。

それから兵士たちは彼を十字架につけ、彼の服を彼らの間で分け合い、誰がどの服を手に入れるかをサイコロを振って見ました。

彼らが彼を十字架につけたのは朝の9時でした。

Mark 7
The Teaching of the Ancestors
1
Some Pharisees and teachers of the Law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus.
2
They noticed that some of his disciples were eating their food with hands that were ritually unclean―that is, they had not washed them in the way the Pharisees said people should.

(For the Pharisees, as well as the rest of the Jews, follow the teaching they received from their ancestors: they do not eat unless they wash their hands in the proper way; nor do they eat anything that comes from the market unless they wash it first. And they follow many other rules which they have received, such as the proper way to wash cups, pots, copper bowls, and beds.)

So the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law asked Jesus, "Why is it that your disciples do not follow the teaching handed down by our ancestors, but instead eat with ritually unclean hands?"

Jesus answered them, "How right Isaiah was when he prophesied about you! You are hypocrites, just as he wrote:
'These people , says God, honor me with their words, but their heart is really far away from me.

It is no use for them to worship me, because they teach human rules as though they were my laws!'

"You put aside God's command and obey human teachings."

And Jesus continued, "You have a clever way of rejecting God's law in order to uphold your own teaching.
10
For Moses commanded, 'Respect your father and you mother,' and, 'If you curse your father or your mother, you are to be put to death.'
11
But you teach that if people have something they could use to help their father or mother, but say, 'This is Corban' (which means, it belongs to God), they are excused from helping their father or mother.
13
In this way the teaching you pass on to others cancels out word of God. And there are many other things like this that you do."
The Things That Make a Person Unclean

Then Jesus called the crowd to him once more and said to them, "Listen to me, all of you, and understand.
15
There is nothing that goes into you from the outside which can make you ritually unclean. Rather, it is what comes out of you that makes you unclean."

When he left the crowd and went into the house, his disciples asked him to explain this saying.
18
"You are no more intelligent than the others," Jesus said to them. "Don't you understand? Nothing that goes into you from the outside can really make you unclean, because it does not go into your heart but into your stomach and then goes on out the body."
(In saying this, Jesus declared that all foods are fit to be eaten.)

And he went on to say, "It is what comes out of you that makes you unclean.

For from the inside, from your heart, come the evil ideas which lead you to do immoral things, to rob, kill, commit adultery, be greedy, and do all sorts of evil things; deceit, indecency, jealousy, slander, pride, and folly―all these evil things come from inside you and make you unclean."

『神は、これらの人々は言葉で私を讃えてくれますが、彼らの心は私から本当に遠く離れていると言いました。

彼らは私を崇拝するのは無駄です、なぜなら彼らは人間の規則をあたかも私の法であるかのように教えているからです!』

あなたたちは神の命令を脇に置き、人間の教えに従います。」

そしてイエスは続けて、「あなたたちは自分の教えを守るために神の律法を賢明に拒否します。

というのは、モーセは、『あなたの父と母を敬え』、『もしあなたの父や母を呪うなら、あなたは死刑に処される』と命じたからです。

しかし、もし人々が父親や母親を助けるために使えるものを持っているのに、『これはコルバンです（つまり、それは神のものです）と言った場合、彼らは父親や母親を助けることを免除される』と教えています。
13
このようにして、あなたたちが他の人に伝える教えは神の言葉を打ち消してしまいます。他にも同様のことはたくさんあります。」
人を汚すもの
14
それからイエスはもう一度群衆を呼び寄せて言われた、「皆さん、聞いてください。理解してください。
15
あなたがたを儀式的に汚す可能性のあるものは、外部からあなたがたの中に入るものは何もありません。むしろ、あなたがたを汚すのは、あなたがたから出て来るものなのです。」
17
彼が群衆を離れて家に入ると、弟子たちはこの言葉を説明するように彼に頼みました。
18
「あなたがたは他の人たちと同じくらい知性があるわけではない」とイエスは彼らに言った。「分からないのですか。外から入って来るものは何一つ、本当にあなたたちを汚すことはできません。なぜなら、それはあなたの心に入るのではなく、お腹に入り、そして腹の中に入って便所へと出て行くからです。」
（イエスはこのように言って、すべての食べ物は食べるのに適していると宣言されました。）

そして続けて、「あなたがたを汚すのは、あなたがたから出て来るものです。
21
なぜなら、あなたがたの内側から、心から、不道徳なことをしたり、盗んだり、殺したり、姦淫したり、貪欲になったり、あらゆる種類の邪悪なことをするように導く邪悪な考えが出て来るからです。欺瞞、猥褻、嫉妬、中傷、高慢、愚かさ、これらすべての邪悪なものはあなたの内側から出て来て、あなたがたを汚します。」
人間から出て来るもの、それがその人間を汚す。なぜならば、人間の心の中からこそ、悪い（もろもろの）想いが出て来る。
