This rare manual wind 22 Jewels Russian Chronometer watch "WOLNA" has been manufactured at the Russian watch factory in Chistopol City (Tatarstan region) in the late 50's, and considered by many watch experts as one of the best Russian wristwatch ever made. Unfortunately, the production of these fine watches lasted only for about five years, and it was discontinued due to the high production cost and high retail price (almost 50% of the average monthly salary). The creation of this outstanding chronometer was clearly inspired by the legendary ZENITH chronometer Cal. 135 which was launched by LeLocle, Switzerland in 1948, and is highly valued nowadays by the watch collectors and watch enthusiasts worldwide. If you are familiar with ZENITH Cal. 135, you will notice some striking similarities: very large screw balance wheel, fine timing regulation mechanism, plates layout, large and powerful mainspring, oversize jewels, etc. The watch is 35mm in diameter (excluding the crown), the mint case is gold plated. The beautiful and rare white silver guiloche dial has gold arabic numerals and chapters . The golplated hands are of a rare "sceleton type". The rare goldplated movement (Cal. 2809A) is in mint condition. WOSTOK & WOLNA are only precision wristwatches ever were produced in the USSR. In 1968 these watches received Big gold medal on Leipzig fair. The back cover is of stainless steel, and has a waterproof sealing screw-in ring. The inscription on the back cover (in Cyryllic) says: "antishock, dust-moisture proof. The watch is individually serial numbered and is in exceptionally nice condition. It is running very strong and extremely accurate. Priced by some dealers as high as 800 Euros, this particular watch is priced much more reasonable. ebayを見ているとロシアからの流出品が実に多く出ていて面白い。
以前からロシア製コックピットクロックとか良く買っていたが、今回は1950年代に製造された、ゼニスキャリバー１３５のデッドコピーの時計をデッドストックで手に入れた。
価格は安い。 早速ＯＨの持っていき中を覗くが
「へー、ロシア製って地板が薄かったりするけど、これしっかりしてますね。」
なぞと時計の修理屋も言う。
ＯＨ金額は購入金額を上回りそうになるが、ロシアンウォッチの実力を一度見たいのでよしとする。
ゼニスキャリバー１３５は、テンプを限界まで大きくして精度を追求した名器。
今でも二桁後半万円はしてしまうような時計だが、どこまでそれに追いつく事が出来るだろうか？

ただのスナップバックって結構笑わせるが、確かに中は綺麗だ。
これが本家の１／４０の価格で普通に買えることに感謝している。
