本日、沖縄の普天間基地の移転先として予定されている名護市辺野古にあるキャンプ・シュワブのゲート前のデモの状態を視察しに行きました。ところが着いたとたんに、政府が裁判所が提案した和解案を受け入れると書かれた琉球新報の号外を渡されたので、「あれっ？！」と思いました。
Today I went to see the situation of the demonstrations being held in front of the gate of Camp Schwab in the Henoko district of Nago, Okinawa, which is slated as the site to which the Futenma Marine Corps Air Station will be relocated. Upon arriving, I was surprised to be handed an extra edition of the Ryukyu Shinpo newspaper announcing that the Abe administration has agreed to a compromise proposed by the court in the court proceedings between the central government and the Okinawa government.
それでも、デモは引き続き行われていました。詳細は今度報告いたします。
The demonstrations were nevertheless continuing. I will report the details later.
