When I was in college, I studied ancient Asian history. 80% was about ancient China, and other countries were covered only briefly. After that, I studied ancient and modern Japanese history, but I do not have a good understanding of modern Korean history.

Korean studies expert Sonfa Oh has written a book in English that really helped me understand Korea’s present stance toward Japan. This is a translation of her book in Japanese titled “Naze hannnichi Kankoku ni mirai wa nai no ka” (Shogakukan, 2013), which was a best seller.
