東京で生まれ、５歳から米国シカゴで育ったレイ・ホトダ氏が、2015年の秋から、米国ユタ州ソルトレイクシティにあるユタ交響楽団（http://www.utahsymphony.org/）のアソシエイト・コンダクター（副指揮者）に就任することが、5月17日の地元新聞デゼレット・ニュースで改めて発表され、本人のインタービューが掲載されました。ユタ交響楽団にとって初めての女性コンダクターということもあって、話題を呼んでいます。
The Deseret News reported again on May 17th that Rei Hotoda, who was born in Tokyo and grew up from age 5 in Chicago, will join the Utah Symphony as associate conductor beginning in the fall of 2015, and featured an interview with her. This news is drawing a great deal of interest partly because she will be the first female conductor of the Utah Symphony.

実は、昨日のブログに書いたソルトレイクシティにあるソルトパレス・コンベンションセンターに隣接する建物が、ユタ交響楽団の本拠地であるモーリス アブラヴァネル・コンサートホール（Maurice Abravanel Concert Hall）です。
As a matter of fact, the home of the Utah Symphony is Maurice Abravanel Hall, located directly next door to the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, which I discussed in my posting yesterday.
