1 ダビデと神殿の責任者たちは、琴と竪琴とシンバルの伴奏で預言する者を、アサフ、ヘマン、エドトンの各グループから選びました。その名と役割は次のとおり。
1 David and the officers of the army also set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, who were to prophesy accompanied by lyres, harps, and cymbals. This is the list of the men who performed their service:
2 王の側近の預言者アサフの指揮下に置かれたのは、彼の子ザクル、ヨセフ、ネタヌヤ、アサルエラ。
2 From Asaph’s sons:
Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asarelah, sons of Asaph, under Asaph’s authority, who prophesied under the authority of the king.
3 琴の伴奏で主を賛美する責任者エドトンの指揮下に置かれたのは、彼の六人の子ゲダルヤ、ツェリ、エシャヤ、シムイ、ハシャブヤ、マティテヤ。
3 From Jeduthun: Jeduthun’s sons:
Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei,[a] Hashabiah, and Mattithiah—six—under the authority of their father Jeduthun, prophesying to the accompaniment of lyres, giving thanks and praise to the Lord.
4-5 王の側近の祭司ヘマンの指揮下に置かれたのは、彼の子ブキヤ、マタヌヤ、ウジエル、シェブエル、エリモテ、ハナヌヤ、ハナニ、エリヤタ、ギダルティ、ロマムティ・エゼル、ヨシュベカシャ、マロティ、ホティル、マハジオテ。神はヘマンに、この十四人の息子のほかに三人の娘を与えました。
4 From Heman: Heman’s sons:
Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 All these sons of Heman, the king’s seer, were given by the promises of God to exalt him,[b] for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6-7 彼らの務めは、シンバルや竪琴や琴の伴奏で歌って主に仕えることでした。彼らの神殿での奉仕は、王と彼らの父の指導のもとでなされました。彼らとその家族はみな、主にささげる賛美の訓練を受け、全部で二百八十八人になる彼らの一人一人が音楽の達人でした。
6 All these men were under their own fathers’ authority for the music in the Lord’s temple, with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of God’s temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king’s authority.
7 They numbered 288 together with their relatives who were all trained and skillful in music for the Lord.
8 これらの合唱隊員は、年齢や評判に関係なく、くじで決めてそれぞれ務めにつきました。
8 They cast lots for their duties, young and old alike, teacher as well as pupil.
9-31 第一はアサフ氏族のヨセフ。第二はゲダルヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第三はザクルとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第四はイツェリとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第五はネタヌヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第六はブキヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第七はエサルエラとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第八はエシャヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第九はマタヌヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十はシムイとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十一はアザルエルとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十二はハシャブヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十三はシュバエルとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十四はマティテヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十五はエレモテとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十六はハナヌヤとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十七はヨシュベカシャとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十八はハナニとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第十九はマロティとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第二十はエリヤタとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第二十一はホティルとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第二十二はギダルティとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第二十三はマハジオテとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。第二十四はロマムティ・エゼルとその子ら、兄弟合わせて十二人。
9 The first lot for Asaph fell to Joseph, his sons, and his relatives— 12[c]
to Gedaliah the second: him, his relatives, and his sons— 12
10 the third to Zaccur, his sons, and his relatives— 12
11 the fourth to Izri,[d] his sons, and his relatives— 12
12 the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
13 the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
14 the seventh to Jesarelah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
15 the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
16 the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
17 the tenth to Shimei, his sons, and his relatives— 12
18 the eleventh to Azarel,[e] his sons, and his relatives— 12
19 the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
20 the thirteenth to Shubael, his sons, and his relatives— 12
21 the fourteenth to Mattithiah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
22 the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons, and his relatives— 12
23 the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
24 the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
25 the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons, and his relatives— 12
26 the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons, and his relatives— 12
27 the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons, and his relatives— 12
28 the twenty-first to Hothir, his sons, and his relatives— 12
29 the twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons, and his relatives— 12
30 the twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons, and his relatives— 12
31 and the twenty-fourth to Romamti-ezer, his sons, and his relatives—
神殿での賛美の奉仕の具体的な編成について。
ダビデの執念すら感じる。ソロモンによって立派な建物が建築されるだろうが、神殿の主体は建物ではなく、神であり、その神に対して礼拝を捧げるところであり、そのための準備が進めらている。
ダビデ自身が演奏の指導にあたっている点からは、彼の真剣さがうかがえる。
礼拝、神に捧げる気持ちは大事なことではあるけれど、こうして神殿奉仕のために技術が養われたり、元々賜物として持っている者たちが集められるところは大事なポイントだと思う。
ただ、それを人間的にランク付けするのではなく、くじ引きで順番が決められているのは、技術至上主義ではなく、あくまでも神中心の賛美でなければならないことのあらわれだろう。
今週末から、ある奉仕を再開する。それに向けてしっかり備えよという神からのメッセージだと受け取った。とても直線的なメッセージで、励みになる。
