マタイの福音書 20:1-16 Matthew 20:1-16
1 天国を、こんなふうにたとえることもできます。農園の経営者が、果樹園で働く日雇い労働者を雇おうと、朝早く出かけて行きました。
1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.
2 そして、一日一デナリの約束で、彼らを果樹園へ行かせました。
2 He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 二、三時間後、また職を求める人々の集まる場所へ行ってみると、仕事にあぶれた者たちがたむろしています。
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing.
4 それで、その人たちにも、夕方には適当な賃金を払うという約束で、果樹園へ行かせました。
4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’
5 昼ごろと午後の三時ごろにも、同じようにしました。
5 So they went. He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing.
6 夕方も五時近くに、もう一度出かけてみると、まだぶらぶらしている者たちがいます。『どうして一日中、何もしないでここにいるのか』と尋ねると、
6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 『仕事がないのです』と答えたので、農園主は言いました。『それなら今すぐ行って、私の農園でみんなといっしょに働きなさい。』
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 終業の時刻になり、農園主は監督に言いつけて、労働者たちを呼び集めました。そして、最後に雇った男たちから順に日当を支払いました。
8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 五時に雇われた男たちの日当はなんと一人一デナリです。
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius.
10 それで、早くから仕事にかかっていた男たちは、もっとたくさんもらえるだろうと思いました。ところが、彼らの日当もやはり一デナリだったのです。
10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius.
11-12 当てがはずれた者たちはみな、農園主に文句を言いました。『あの人たちは、たった一時間働いただけなのです。なのに、この炎天下、一日中働いた自分たちと同じに払ってやるんですか。』
11 When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’
●９時から働いた者も、１７時から働いた者も同じ給料
〇早くから働いた者が文句を言うのも当たり前→この世の中の価値観
〇”当て”がはずれた→”当て”は何か
13 ところが、農園主はその一人に答えました。『いいかね。私はあなたに何も悪いことはしていない。あなたは一日一デナリで働くことを承知したはずだ。
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?
●”当て”は相対的な価値差で計算されるもの→時間、金
〇他の人比べてどうか、自分は損しているのか、得をしているのか
14 文句を言わずに、それを持って帰りなさい。私はだれにでも分け隔てなく払ってやりたいのだ。
14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you.
15 自分の金をどう使おうと自由だろう。私がほかの者たちに親切なので、あなたは腹を立てているのか。』
15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
16 このように、最後の者が最初になり、最初の者が最後になるのです。」
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
●聖書で最初にぶつかった壁だった→今はどういうことかがわかってくる
〇”最初の者”は最後になっても結局は得だと思う→果樹園にいる時間は長い
〇”最後の者”は喜びにあふれる強さがある→最初の者はそれに従うことができる
⇒最初であるか最後であるかではなく、果樹園に招かれたことと報酬＝めぐみに焦点を

福音を聞いて受け入れたばかりの者は、初めの愛を浴びたばかりで信じる強さがある。
教会は、この強さによって前進していくと思う。
前々からイエスを信じていた者は、その力を否定するのではなく、自分を”後”にして、受け入れたばかりの者を”前”にすることで、自分が前々から招かれた理由を知っていくとも思う。主を待つ者の責任→教会を継いでいく責任→伝道の責任。
