22 このあとすぐ、イエスは弟子たちを舟に乗り込ませて向こう岸に向かわせ、また、群衆を解散させられました。
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.
23 みんなを帰したあと、ただお一人になったイエスは、祈るために丘に登って行かれました。
23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.
24 一方、湖上は夕闇に包まれ、弟子たちは強い向かい風と大波に悩まされていました。
24 Later that night, he was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 朝の四時ごろ、イエスが水の上を歩いて弟子たちのところに行かれると、
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26 弟子たちは悲鳴をあげました。てっきり幽霊だと思ったのです。
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 しかし、すぐにイエスが、「わたしです。こわがらなくてよいのです」と声をおかけになったので、彼らはほっと胸をなでおろしました。
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 その時、ペテロが叫びました。「先生。もしほんとうにあなただったら、私に、水の上を歩いてここまで来いとおっしゃってください。」
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 「いいでしょう。来なさい。」言われるままに、ペテロは舟べりをまたいで、水の上を歩き始めました。
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 ところが高波を見てこわくなり、沈みかけたので、大声で、「主よ。助けてください」と叫びました。
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 イエスはすぐに手を差し出してペテロを助け、「ああ、信仰の薄い人よ。なぜわたしを疑うのです」と言われました。
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 二人が舟に乗り込むと、すぐに風はやみました。
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 舟の中にいた者たちはみな、「あなたはほんとうに神の子です」と告白しました。
33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
34 やがて、舟はゲネサレに着きました。
34 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret.
35 イエスが来られたという知らせはたちまち町中に広まり、人々がどっと押しかけました。互いに誘い合い、病人という病人をみな連れて来て、
35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him
36 イエスに頼みました。「せめてお着物のすそにでもさわらせてやってください。」そして、さわった人たちはみな治りました。
36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
ペテロの信仰：イエスを慕っている
・群衆にたとえ話をし弟子たちには説明
→特別扱いされることの心地よさ
・奇跡の数々を間近で見ている
→イエスにある”力”を肌で知る
・水の上を歩く、イエスを体験
→「主よあなたなら○○させてください」
→イエスではなく水を見て沈む：飲まれた
◎イエスにのみフォーカスし続ける
→風は止んだ：終わる、神の支配・主権
適用：
「もしこの苦難があなたなら、○○させてください。」
湧き出て止まらないイエスに対する必要が理想
しかしペテロは「必要」で水面を歩いたのではない
だからイエスにフォーカスし続けることには失敗したが
もっとさまざまな物事をイエスへの信仰につなげて”みる”
◎イエスはその主権で自然をも支配されている
◎まだ成熟しないペテロにさえも体験させられた
着物にすそに触らせてやってください：長血の女と同じ
イエスから出ているもの
それを受け取るために信仰
ペテロの水面歩行とは違う：切実
