マタイの福音書13:44-58 Matthew 13:44-58
44 神の国は、ある人が畑の中で見つけた宝のようなものです。見つけた人はもう大喜びで、だれにも知らせず、全財産をはたいてその畑を買い、宝を手に入れるに違いありません。
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 また神の国は、良質の真珠を探している宝石商のようなものです。
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.
46 彼はすばらしい価値のある真珠を見つけると、持ち物全部を売り払ってでも、それを手に入れようとするのです。
46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
47-48 また神の国は、漁師にたとえることもできます。漁師は、いろいろな魚でいっぱいになった網を引き上げると、岸辺に座り込んで網の中の魚をより分けます。食べられるものはかごに入れて、食べられないものは捨てるというふうに。
47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.
48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.
49 この世の終わりにも、同じようなことが起こります。天使がやって来て、正しい者と悪い者とを区別し、
49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous
50 悪い者を火に投げ込むのです。彼らはそこで泣きわめいて、くやしがります。
50 and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51 これでわかりましたか。」
51 “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked.
51 弟子たちは、「はい」と答えました。
51 “Yes,” they replied.
52 そこでイエスは、さらにこう言われました。「ユダヤ人のおきてに通じ、しかも、わたしの弟子でもある人たちは、古くからある聖書の宝と、私が与える新しい宝と、二つの宝を持つことになるのです。」
52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”
53 これらのたとえを語り終えると、イエスはガリラヤのナザレに帰り、町の会堂で教えられました。
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.
54 すると、人々はみなイエスの知恵とその不思議な力に驚きました。
54 Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.
55 「なんということだ。
55 “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.
55 あの人は、たかが大工の息子ではないか。母親はマリヤで、弟のヤコブも、ヨセフも、シモンも、ユダも、
55 “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas?
56 妹たちも、おれたちはよく知っている。みんなここに住んでいるのだから。あのイエスがどれほどの人だというのか。」
56 Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?”
57 こうして人々は、かえってイエスに反感を持つようになりました。
57 And they took offense at him.
57 「預言者はどこででも尊敬されますが、ただ自分の故郷、身内の者の間ではそうではないのです」と、イエスは言われました。
57 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”
58 このような人々の不信仰のために、そこでは、ほんのわずかの奇跡を行われただけでした。
58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
