Course: ESL D course:( 6 man to man classes /2 group classes a day)
Term of staying here: 5 months
Name:Sho Kurebayashi

English name: Kevin

Please introduce yourself briefly.

I’m Sho Kurebayashi; my English name is Kevin.

I go to University in Japan.

I came here after acquiring all the credits required to graduate.

What is your purpose in studying English?

I’ve been studying English to go on a working holiday in Canada and I want to go traveling around the world someday.

Before coming to the Philippines, how much have you studied English?

I had been studying English for 6 years when I was a junior high school student and also was a high school student, however,  in university I actually hadn’t studied English at all, moreover, I avoided it.

Do you feel an improvement of English at present?

(If your answer is “yes”, which skill especially did you improve? In addition, how did you improve it?)

It is almost 4 months since I came here; what I feel at present is improvement of my speaking skill.

I couldn’t give my opinion before coming here.

I just said, “Yes”  “No”, but now, I can make sentences by using

noun clauses, adjective clauses, and also adverb clauses.

Aside from taking the classes, how do you usually study?

The first 3 months I spent was for building the foundation I required to master English.

I think that the length of study is enough because I have 8 lessons a day.

My focus is now on IELTS and TOEIC.

The mock tests are available every Saturdays respectively.

It gives me motivation for studying.

What do you think of Iloilo? Would you recommend this city to students? Why or why not?

Iloilo city is the town which is neither too civic nor too provincial so that

I’m happy with the city.

In addition, there are tourist attractions, Guimaras, Boracay, and so on, near our school, which means we can take a rest and enjoy individual time during off days!

How do you communicate with the local people? Do they understand you?

They can speak English. ( The younger generation study and speak it, the better they improve.)

It’s actually a good opportunity to communicate in English.

They think that most Asian people they see are Korean so they say “Anyoun!”(hello means in Korean.) to us.

Even if they say that to you, don’t be angry! They’re just friendly.

Kindly give a message to the students who are considering coming to this school. (about teachers, classes, food, accommodation and so on.)

I recommend choosing here to the students who really want to concentrate on studying since there are not so many amusements which also can be disturbing to you.

I just suggest you have new hobbies.

It will make your life here more fruitful.

In my case, playing Ukulele, doing Zumba, have become my new pastimes.

Besides, the teachers at We Academy are friendly enough to be opened even to the people who are shy.

As for foods, there are various kinds of restaurant, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Italian etc.

You will have no problems, so don’t worry!
