イエメンの反政府組織「フーシ」が、サウジアラビアの首都リヤド近郊の国際空港に向けて4日夜、弾道ミサイルが発射され、サウジアラビアの軍部隊が迎撃した。死傷者は出ていない。イエメンではスンニ派の盟主サウジアラビアが支援するハディ大統領側と、イランが支援するフーシの戦闘が激化し2015から内戦に突入している。(黒谷)

イランのザマーニーニヤ石油次官が、「イランは2018年に200億ドル以上に相当する石油関連の複数の契約を締結する見込みだ」と語った。イランは、ロイヤルダッチシェルやロスネフチ、アングロダッチ・グループといった国際的な石油大手との協議を継続している。さらに、トランプ大統領が核合意遵守における経済制裁の再開の可能性を示唆して以来、イランとの取引の迅速化を求めるという国際的な企業の決定に変化はないとされている。（照井）
イラクのアバディ首相は２７日、北部のクルド自治政府の治安部隊ペシュメルガに対する軍事作戦を２４時間停止することを命じた。両軍は、シリアとトルコとの国境に近いイラク北西部フィシュカブルなどをめぐって激しく衝突しており、緊張緩和につながることが期待されている。また、この一時停戦はIS掃討作戦を進めている米国の仲介によって実現された。(黒谷)

Trump supports top rate levy for wealthy

トランプ政権は、新たに富裕層に対して最上位税率区分を設けることを支持した。これまで共和党が構想していた税制案は、所得再分配が行われず富裕層のみが恩恵を受けるという批判を受けていた。共和党による税制案の詳細は未だに不明瞭であるが、予算案が上院を通過したら間も無く開示されるだろう。予算決議案次第では共和党がオバマケア撤廃にまで乗り出す可能性もある。

Big US industrial group earnings boost hopes for global economy.
航空宇宙産業や建設業界といったセクターを含む複数の米国の主要な製造会社の損益計算書の結果が良好だったことが、世界経済の見通しを良くしている。多くの企業は中国市場の改善や強さがこの好成績の要因の一つであるとしているが、概して米国経済やヨーロッパ経済も堅調であることも要因であると言える。しかし全ての企業が好成績である訳ではなく、GE (General Electrics)といった企業は減益したと報告した。（加藤）

Republican tensions flare into open warfare
Republican members have voiced concern over an upcoming party divide, should the newly proposed tax reform bill by President Trump fail. Former White House strategist Steve Bannon is enlisting candidates to run primary challenges against every Republican senator up for re-election in 2018, except for Texas’ Ted Cruz. The Republicans currently hold a 52-48 Senate majority, and fear failure to pass tax reform will result in the rise of anti-establishment candidates as there is growing dissatisfaction with current party leaders.

Dozens of multinational firms and tech companies have lobbied to help keep “Dreamers” in the US—as Barack Obama’s amnesty for undocumented immigrants who arrived in the US as children, runs out. Estimated losses of $215 billion from national GDP and $24.6 billion from social security and Medicare contributions have been forecasted if the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (Daca) should be let to expire in March 2019. Republican lawmakers have stated they would push through a legislative solution, only if it is accompanied with a stricter security position on the Mexican border.（リック）
