Recently I have been playing and watching people play some French games. They all have e sure how wonderful stories, I can't get enough of them.

Beyond : two souls, heavy rain, and life is strange.

Beyond is about this girl born with a supernatural being stuck to her and she learnt to control it to do inhuman feats. Due to her ability she wasn't able to live normally, and grew up in a lab. She got trained by the CIA to execute special missions but was later hunted by them after an incident. She eventually had a short stay with some homeless people, who showed her more compassion than everyone else ever did. She even helped one of them give birth to a boy, but the peace she had was short-lived, as the CIA continued to hunt her to the end of the world.

Heavy rain is about a serial killer who killed children in a small town by drowning them in rainwater. The protagonist, Ethan, was a rich architect who had a wonderful life with his wife and two children and lived in a big house. One day the family went out shopping, and Ethan lost his son in a shopping mall. He went to find him, but his son ran across a road at seeing his father. Ethan tried to save him, and both of them got hit by a car. Ethan survived, but his son died. Ethan's wife divorced him and Ethan got depression, but still had to take care of his other son. The story really begins when his remaining son got kidnapped by the serial killer. Ethan goes through a series of life threatening trials to save his son, while his wife reported to the police that Ethan might be the killer.

Heavy rain showed me the power of fatherly love. Romantic love is chemistry, and that feeling can disappear easily for many people, but the love one has for his or her children transcends all logic.

Lastly, Life is strange is about a girl named Maxine who has the ability to rewind time. The story is set in a fictional town called Arcadia Bay in Oregon, which is the state north of California. It allowed me to experience life as a college girl in a small town in USA. Over there people take drugs, have sex at a young age, and have guns. People live in big houses that costs only a small fraction of what the cheapest houses in Singapore cost. One day, Max had a vision of the town getting destroyed by a tornado, and she also gained the ability to rewind time. Other weird things started happening in the town, such as snowfall in October, birds dying all over the town, and an eclipse that wasn't forecasted by scientists. She reunited with her best friend who she left for 5 years when she stumbled upon her about to get killed. Max saved her life, using her ability to go back in time. Together they try to solve the mysteries happening in the town and to save the town from the tornado. In the end, it was revealed that the tornado happened because Max altered time and space too much. Her friend was destined to die, and by going back in time and not saving her, the tornado will no longer happen. She had to make the ultimate decision to either sacrifice the town or sacrifice her friend.

The college drama really got me emotional at times. Also, it was nice to play as a girl and see what goes through a girl's mind. Even if I can go back in time, I would only go back to two years ago and take back something I said to a certain girl. It was the only thing I really regret in my life. This game demonstrates the concept of fate well. If something is meant to happen, no matter how much you struggle to change it, it will happen eventually.

Since I am working in the game industry now, I want to broaden my horizons. Play more than just Japanese games and understand the perspective of other cultures. I had no idea there were such great French games out there until now. I will keep an eye on them from now on. It seems like I like British and French things too. It must be the girl's influence.

I just remembered something I forgot all this while. I watched the first and only French movie of my life with her. I also played that French sport with her. She was in the purple dress that she can no longer put on.
I received my fourth salary a few days ago. I already worked 3.5 months. Time sure flies.

I finally got my next batch of characters to design on Monday. I drew three so far.

My supervisor is going back home to China for a short while, so she asked me to take charge of an entire task (character design) while she's not around. The task was divided between a few people but largely done by me last month, but this month it's 90% by me. This is because the task involves writing Japanese, which my colleagues are not comfortable with. It's simple to me, and I really enjoy it. This is a task that doesn't feel like work to me.

Today I saw an email from the Japanese boss asking if anyone was willing to take on a new task, doing a collaboration event with Konami. I volunteered for it, saying that I am familiar with that Konami game. He said motivated people like me are very welcome. Last week he also praised me for something else, which makes me happy. I will continue to do more than what is asked of me, in order to rise quickly.

I just finished my tuition, and for the first time it wasn't Japanese tuition, but a drawing lesson. The mother told me my tuitee is interested to learn drawing, and wanted me to teach him whatever I know. I'm far from qualified to teach drawing, but gave it a try anyway. He said it was even harder than Japanese...

Maybe I'm just bad at teaching. I'm not sure if he enjoyed it or not either.

Suddenly my life is full of drawing. Life sure can be surprising.

This is one of my new drawings. Can you guess what it is about?

On the way to Saizeriya with my colleagues.

My lunch usually costs about $4 to $5, so I only need to spend $100 on food a month. This is possible because the location is Lavender, which thankfully isn't the central business district. Food is quite reasonably priced here. Who says Singapore is expensive to live in? ニコニコ

I spent the whole afternoon watching Sherlock. They were of extremely high quality as usual.

I was very moved by this scene. Mary was able to have true happiness even if it was just for a while.

TD12 will make life really convenient won't it?

It is only human to make mistakes. It is what it is.

I watched my very first Fast and Furious movie with my friends a few hours ago.

It was really good, and I decided I will go catch up on the previous movies.

Seeing all the actors and actresses, and the characters in the movie, made me think a lot.

I feel like just putting an end to this blog.

I have lost too much of my strength as a person. I will never be good enough.

I should never expose my weakness to anyone ever again.

Maybe that will be for the best.
