Hello Princess, how are you doing?
It's already May. In just two months, it will be two years since you visited Singapore. I remember well that you tried to spring a surprise on me after hearing about the research intern opportunity from Xiaohui.
I also remember how there were four tycoons all around Asia just when you were about to come. You always had very bad luck with planes didn't you?
It should have been at least two months since you started working at Google. How are you coping? Knowing you, you probably drifted to your Chinese colleagues, and listened quietly to them talk when having lunch together.
People at Google sometimes suffer from imposter syndrome, in which they feel like they are not capable because everyone around are just too brilliant. Are you having that problem too?
Stay calm, and seek help from your colleagues. I'm sure they are more than willing to. Is your boyfriend also working with you in Google? Maybe you are turning to him for help now. I don't know. All I can do is make some guesses.
If you're feeling lonely, I want you to know that you're not alone. I still think about you a lot. Worrying if you're feeling sad or not. If you're still the same Princess I knew from before, then you probably are. That's why I am talking to you through my blog now. I hope I am still able to provide you just a little bit of happiness, by sharing with you interesting things going on in Singapore and my life. Maybe it doesn't make any sense for me to say this, since I am the one who chose to leave you.
You told me that you would be able to live life perfectly well alone. You have been living that way most of your life, keeping a safe distance from everyone. Are you still that way?
Of course, if you are together with your new boyfriend, then all of what I just said would mean nothing.
Cosmetics became a big hobby of yours since last year. Do you have a big collection of cosmetics now, I wonder. You have a very good salary now, so you can buy most of the things you want, am I right? Although you still have to return your debt to your parents, and rental in the Bay Area is really expensive.
I read that it costs about 2000+ USD for a cheaper area, and you still have to drive your own car. Are you getting your boyfriend to drive you to work every day? It's even possible that you're staying together with him. The thought of this still sparks a strong feeling of jealousy within me, but I am slowly learning to control my emotions. I am only speaking to you as your ex-best friend now, not your ex-boyfriend.
I hope that he is taking good care of you, as he said he would. My hatred for him is bottomless, but if he is able to bring happiness to the lonely you in a foreign country, then I appreciate his existence.
Are your parents doing fine? They must have been quite happy that I am finally gone, and that you got a boyfriend capable of earning a lot of money. Your parents meant well for you, so I hope you don't blame them for what they did.
Once again let me tell you how much I appreciated all that you did for me. You're a wonderful person. I know that better than anyone, and I want you to know that as well. Please don't feel depressed, if you are. A lovely girl like you deserve to always be smiling.
I pray that you continue to stay healthy, get used to your work, mix well with your colleagues, have a smooth relationship with your boyfriend, and most importantly, be happy! That is all I have to say today. See you again next time, beautiful Princess!
