I visited my first ever Japanese salon yesterday. My hairdresser is Teru, born in Gifu prefecture.
It was a very expensive haircut, and the end result was more or less the same as the cheap places I visited in the past, but I enjoyed chatting with Teru. He also told me a lot about hair and styling.
He told me that I could easily create volume using hair wax, and perming is totally unneccesary. I spent the last hour an hour watching Gatsby hair-styling tutorial videos, and that is indeed true.
I had a gray moving rubber, but he recommended me to use the purple one instead. I shall do so.
Teru said that to him, I was an "雲の上の存在”, meaning an existence above the heavens, due to the fact that I graduated from a top university and can speak so many languages. He didn't even think I was a Singaporean, due to the way I was dressed and my hairstyle. He taught I was Taiwanese. He even asked me how many years I have been living in Singapore. He was really surprised when I told him that I was a Singaporean.
His wife is a beautician who works at a beauty parlour right above his salon. It's so wonderful that they are close to each other at all times. I envy him very much.
There was a drink menu too. I ordered a glass of peach tea, and it was so delicious.
Even though it's expensive, I believe I will visit it again. Next time with Marcus, who was the one who recommended it to me.
Now on to other matters. I managed to run 2 km two days ago, and 1 km yesterday. I want to keep this up. I do feel more energetic, and my body is tired.
I ordered a mini fridge to put in my room. I will be using it to store my milk and eggs. I will be eating a lot of protein from now on, to gain some weight and muscles. I will also be getting a lot of tuna for its omega 3 which will boost my skin, hair, heart, and brain health.
I bought some nice clothes from Uniqlo too. Not quite enough though.
I have already spent quite a lot of money this month, but they are mostly for long term items, so it's worth it.
