She reads the words from our first exercise as we start our class, and I ask her to pick a word and list its synonyms and antonyms. She then went on to read the following article. We talked about climbing and engaging in non-traditional sports. She claims she has no interest in it. She lacks the energy and interest to participate in such sports. For her, it is unfamiliar and frightening. The individual in the essay must have a great deal of courage to accomplish such a feat, she believes.
