とある。「（何か不快であったり危険なものが）徐々に知らない間に害をもたらす」というくらいの意味だろうか。一言だと、「陰湿な」が近い感じもするが、「陰湿な」は人の性格だったり行為に対して使うのが一般的だと思うので、なかなかぴったりしたものはないですね。
