procrastinateは、「先延ばしにする、ぐずぐずする」。
語源を調べてみると…
"to put off till another day, defer to a future time," 1580s, a back formation from procrastination or else from Latin procrastinatus, past participle of procrastinare "to put off till tomorrow; defer, delay." Related: Procrastinated; procrastinating. Earlier verb was procrastine (1540s), from French.
procrastinationからの逆成（バックフォーメーション）かラテン語のprocrastinatusからだそう。
いろんなことを先延ばしにしてしまってなかなか実行できない、というのは万人がもつ悩みなわけで、procrastinationは、自己啓発本とかの定番のテーマ。Youtubeなんかでもどのようにprocrastinateしないかを扱った動画なんかがいっぱいある。
