2000年頃から使われていて、phreakと、ロックバンドのPhishが影響しているのではないかということ。ロックバンドのPhishは逆にこのフィッシングから来たものと思っていたのでちょっと驚き。
フィッシュ(Phish)はグレイトフル・デッドなんかと一緒に語られたりすることのおおいバンドで、ライブで長々と即興演奏することで知られている。個人的にはグレイトフル・デッドのほうが好きですけど…
