CHVRCHES、読み方はChurches(チャーチズ）スコットランド出身のバンド。結成は2011年。シンセやその他の楽器を務めているイアンとマーティンは同大学だったため長年の仲だったそう。ボーカル（たまにシンセ等）を務めるローレンと二人が出会ったのはほんの２、３年前。ローレン、すごいかわいいんだけど、それだけじゃなくドラム、ピアノも子どもの頃から習っていたのでできるらしい。
結成して１年目にして高級紙ガーディアンに特集されたりBBCに出たりと引っ張りだこ。そして先日、サマーソニックに出演し初来日も果たした。 九月にはデビューアルバム「The Bones of What You Believe」をリリース予定。
