群馬県の人たちは、上州弁という方言を使います。比較的東京に近いことから群馬県民はあまり意識せずに使っている上州弁。ふるさとを離れて初めて気づくことも多いようです。
「だんべぇ」は”でしょう”の意味。「おめえも そう思うだんべぇ。」と使います。
また、「がんす」は”御座います”の意味。「おめでとうがんす」のように使います。

上州弁は他県の人からよく「ケンカしてるの？」と思われてしまうこともある言葉の荒さが特徴です。

江戸後期の江戸弁を色濃く反映させているといわれていますが、東毛地域では栃木や茨城の言葉に近かったり、北毛では東北弁的発言もあったりと、地域によってまた年代によっても使う言葉が違ってきます。
